Shouldn't really be a contest, and I expect it to be ruled a "no contest" or DQ for McGregor once he starts throwing a couple elbows. But then again it's boxing, so Mayweather could take a dive to set up a second 'Superfight".

They are both all about the money.

Already is a "superfight" with both making a bunch of money. McGregor could win if he had the tools but he does not have them. Mayweather has not had enough fights to have aged much so that is no factor. McGregor has not had enough fights against a real boxer (zero) to have acquired the skills. In order for the fight to last very long, Mayweather will have to resist the urge to end it early. GD

Hate to say it but I think Mayweather will win. Mainly because he's trained in boxing, and boxing alone. McGregor is trained in multiple different fighting styles with a bit of boxing in there. I'm sure this fight will just set up a MMA rules fight in the years to come which McGregor will win that way.

I'm going with McGregor purely on heart (mine, not his) I was looking for much more excitement in the Mayweather/Pacquiao fight and was a little disappointed. No question Mayweather is the more skilled for this set up and he's where I'd put actual money.

But it'd be hilarious if McGregor kicks his ass! :-)

Mcgregor obviously has a punchers chance but I highly doubt he will hit Mayweather with a clean shot hard enough to do damage.
Mayweather in 12 by unanimous decision. I wouldn't be surprised if he wins every round as well.

Mayweather is arguably the best defensive boxer of all time, and undoubtedly has the edge. This said, Mcgregor has an unconventional boxing style, especially with the way he uses a karate stance to slide around. I feel that Mcgregor has two ways to win: he presents enough of a different look in the early rounds that he can tag Maywather early, capitalizing quickly before Mayweather gets a read on his style; alternately, Mayeather punches Mcgregor in his huge forehead with those 8oz gloves they're using and breaks his hand (he is known to have hand problems), at which point Connor can go to town.

What's more likely is that Mayweather will avoid Mcgregor for a few rounds, slipping in and out, and once he has a read on him he'll open up in later rounds, maybe putting Mcgregor away, but more likely winning a decision.

While I doubt McGregor has a snowballs chance of winning, I don't doubt he can take a punch. In fact, I'm betting he'll eat lots of glove leather.

Huge Conor fan as I respect his supreme belief in himself. He truly is a once in lifetime person/athlete.
Having said that I doubt he will even land a punch of any significance.

An 0-0 boxer making his boxing debut going up against a 49-0 and one of the best of all time natural boxers and the best defensive boxer of all time.
It wont be competitive.

Conor will get hit and hit often.
The 8 ounce gloves will have more affect on Conor as he eats endless punches.

Mayweather will mercilessly work the body.

think he has lost enough of his varied skills to allow McGregor to many openings.

You could see Connor was getting tired in the 7th and 8th rounds... and then in the 9th be was being battered all around the ring and not protecting himself well and not punching back... The ref made a good call...

Well I had it all wrong. Connor clearly won the first four rounds IMO. I didn't think Mayweather would chance the KO but Connor couldn't clearly defend himself. Good stoppage by the ref as far as I'm concerned.

I'll give mcgreggor credit, but I think people are putting way to much emphasis on the first 3 rounds. mayweather through 12 punches. 12 in the first two rounds. after the first 3 it was over. Mayweather just did mayweather and carried him for the rest of the fight. Mayweather isn't an attacker and he certainly wasn't going to run into McGreggor, a guy who looked like an absolute gorilla compared to him and 0 fight video to study. It's not mayweathers fault that Connor gassed but the result would have been the same. At no point did McGreggor "have" that fight.

None the less it was actually an entertaining fight and I can't stand mayweather and kind of wish he would have ended up on his ass but at least he didn't ruin boxing for a second time. And there both laughing their asses off all the way to the bank!
