Ok. To each his own but for me its all about the respect for the animal. Its not a swap dondkey. But a moose. Its not a ditch chicken but a grouse. I could go on but dont want to rant too much. I know you get my drift

I attribute my dislike of the word to too much gangster rap in my youth, and a desire not to be associated with such.

Great thread. Personally, I think they are all ok in limited use. The thirtieth time buddy says 'swamp donkey' it starts to get pretty thin.
Come to think of it, I wonder if some of my friends realize that swamp donkey tacos are actually moose meat.
We call grouse chickens, but I suppose if it was a formal event I might call them ditch chickens. Hell, chickens are often called yard birds. What is in a name anyway?

Agreed! And what about "migratory game birds"??? If I was a goose, for example, I would demand to be referred to as a "seasonally transient endothermic vertebrate".
Don't get me started with "small" and "big" game.... :)
Apologies to the OP.... :)

I like when antis say "And they use high powered rifles."
Like, you would prefer we shoot "low powered rifles" and injure more animals ??
brian

I always set my rifle to as low power as it goes, it saves energy and is more ethical.
