Buying some tomorrow. A few years back I bought some vibergs when I was in wildfire, but they're not so great for hunting. Looking forward to the new kicks.

Can't really go wrong with Meindl.

I just picked up a pair of Cabela's/Meindl boots and they are phenomenal boots representing great value. Outside of highly specialized pursuits (say all above alpine/climbing or exclusive snowshoe use) they are the best boot I've been able to find at anywhere near their price point. Easily as good or better than others costing hundreds more!

Provided they fit your feet, I am certain these will be a great boot for you. All the best!

Update. Didn't go with the Dovres. Too soft and a trifle wide. Canada Pros and fit like a glove. Ive worn a lot of boots over the years and these are the finest.

I bought a pair of Lowa Tibets based on glowing reviews on here but they just don't work for my feet. I think they just don't work for my feet. I don't know why. No blisters just soooooooore feet after a few KMS.

I bought a second set of Cabelas Meindl perfekt hunters and right out of the box they fit and no pain.

Just faced down a bit of a dilemma in this regard.
Big Dawg decided to eat one of my ancient Elk Stalkers while I was last offshore (Yes, we chatted about that).

Impending hunts... Need Boots...

Ran down to Cabelas with the thought of their Cabela's/Meindl boots.
Found a pair that fit, but held back.
Damn soft compared to the ones I was used to.
Will they give me the numbers of years the Elk Trackers did??
Hmmm...

Ran over to Wholesale. Elk Trackers in stock, and my EXACT size to boot.
Decided to roll with what I know...
Break-in period was a matter of minutes...
Perfect! ;)

Cheers,
Nog

How is sizing? You take the same size as runners etc... no sizing up or down...

I've had my Russel boots for nearly 30 years. sent them back several years ago for new soles. Fit like a glove. http://www.russellmoccasin.com/high-country-hunter-extreme/

I bought the Meindl boots that arent the cabelas version. A higher quality leather and stitching. Not sure the stiffness of the Cabelas but the Dovre were too soft and the Canada Pros were ideal.

Sizing. The sizing on the tongue is either Euro or UK. Size a half size up for UK. For example, I wear a USA size 11 in everything, UK though I size to a 10.5 was super impressed.

I have had a pair of Russels for 15 years now. Have never worn then hunting, but use then as my dress "boots" lol as they look sharp in a pair of jeans.... Love them!
