Hi all. I'm going goat hunting for the first time this fall and I'm looking for some advice on what type of ammo I should use. I have a Mossberg Patriot .30-06.

Thanks

I use Hornady GMX 150gr for my '06. Barnes TTSX will perform the same. Shoot relatively flat at reasonable goat ranges, good bullet performance. Both available in factory ammo.

Shooting an '06 as well. I'll be using 150 ttsx for my goat/sheep hunt this Sept.

30-06 30cal is best suited 165gr to 180gr to hunt anything in North America

Put the first shot into the lungs/shoulders and then wait for it to die.

Few things to remember about goats.........
take lots of time to make sure your shooing a Billie.
theyre already in steep shitty areas, so try not to shoot one that is near/on a cliff with a huge drop or might fall into an area where you can't get to.
goats aren't as tough as everyone makes them sound.

165 gr Noslers or grand slams have worked well for me.
