Help me ID this deer

I saw this buck at work. I was wondering what type of deer it was, and thought where better to ask than a group of hunters. So, what am I looking at?

Definitely looks like a whitetail

Location would help identify him though. No need for an address, just a general area. The island, kootneys, lower rainland, etc.

I left the location out on purpose, because we shouldn't have whitetail here on the coast. But when I saw him, antlers, distinctive white circles around the eyes, I immediately thought whitetail too. I sent the pictures to my husband who showed them to several guys at his work who all agreed it looked like a whitetail. So I'm not nuts. If he's not a whitetail, and he shouldn't be, then he is the most whitetail looking blacktail/mulie I have ever seen.

that faded white ring around the nose for and the antler structure was a dead give away.

You'd think they were Whitetails ....

Antlers are a guideline but never definitive, ever, in species ID.

White belly, white inner legs, white eye/nose rings, small ears, and the horse face mean much more.

Caddisguy has some WT on his trail cam in region 2, so there is no reason to doubt it could be coastal

If the rear view says BTail then its a hybrid

yup swear I saw whities on the island this spring bear hunting...even the tail looked like it just no flagging when they ran, black tip was getting pretty small

Looks like a stunted Sunshine Coast buck. About half the size of a Fraser valley buck and pretty "whitetail" looking in the summer coat. Until you see the tail...

Whitetail deer in fields surrounding White Rock on occasion, can't really get any more coastal than that unless on the VI. Suspect these "immigrated" across the border and loved what they found in the fields and stayed around.

Ace has it right, maybe not 100 % whitetail, small ears, sweeping forward antlers, dainty and fawn light color. Young Blacktail buck with three points on each side looks like a whitetail.
If it's on the coast, i'd say could be a young blacktail three pointer. Small ears too no mule.

Saw that pic and said that's a whitetail, I'd need to see the tail to be absolutely %100 but those facial markings are all whitetail.

It's definitely a Whitetail from my perspective and doesn't surprise me being on the coast.

Look at the info from the picture. It was taken on the sunshine coast. When I looked at it on my phone it gave me the nearest address and brought up Google maps...if you want your location kept secret make sure your camera on your phone doesn't have permission to access your location.

I'm team whitetail until I see the rump, however, it is hard to picture the journey it must have taken to get to the Sunshine Coast.
