Has anyone here tried hunting any of many small islands in the Squamish R?

Many are just sand and rock, but others are covered in trees and vegetation.

Getting across the shallow river branches may take some planning, but the islands should have much less hunting pressure.

I wouldn't bother, there's plenty of other area up Ashlu, Squamish, and Elaho.

I have seen animals coming out of that island and crossing the river heading towards sigard peak. Once I saw 3 elk, another I seen black bear prints, you can it tell they were headed to crossing the river onto one of those islands. Squamish is a tough go, lots of hikers, campers, vagrants. Found a rave going on once at the 48km mark, balloons and glow sticks hanging off of trees and signs and lots of people coming and going.

Saw a nice 6pt bull elk, a few cows, a wolf and some does. No bucks or bears...just tracks and scat. Everytime I been up there it's a zoo. Unless you go WAY WAY up I to the cheakamus Valley but it's pretty thick. Might as well just blast thru town and try your hand in Pemberton .

Be careful, though you may be able to cross over you may not be able to get back due to heavy rains further up the valleys which may increase water levels quickly. Channels that were dry will or may now be wet.

I'd suspect they are very brushy.

Thanks guys for the replies.
Strange that there would be elk but not deer or bear. I wonder why?
Yes, it was fairly busy last Sat.
That is why I was thinking of a bit off the beaten path...
