Any guesses for 2017-2018 LEH draw date?

Now that the draw deadline has come and gone, what's your guess for the draw date? According to the ministry over 70% of entries were done online last year while the remaining 20 some % were done manually with the paper entries.

So in theory you would think if it's all online entries this year that it might be held sooner than ever before. What do you think?

I saw an email going around that each draw has to be signed off on by various parties and if there are any objections (not sure who gets to object) ... one draw held up means the whole thing gets held up. Online or not it still takes some time. I think late June is possible.

Guess it would depend if the biologists reports are done yet or not. Can't run the draw until they know how many tags they are giving out. I'm assuming that all that would be scheduled to be around the same time as the deadline.
My guess would be JUNE 15-20th.

That is my understanding as well. Computer or hand count, sign-off is required for each draw (hunt code) and if there are any discrepancies it holds up everything else. I don't think having the draw online necessarily speeds things up. It's certainly more efficient, cheaper and they don't need as much man power to count entries and do data entry. It could speed things up marginally if counts were the main source of delays, but I wouldn't expect the draw to happen a day or two after the LEH deadline. There is a heck of a lot more to the process than counting and drawing entries. I would expect late June to mid July.

Who knows? Sometime this summer hopefully, lol.

With a fully computerized system, there is no reason why it couldn't be run seconds after the application process closes, or the last credit card payment goes through. But like others have said, if we have to wait for biologist reports to come in, then we are at the mercy of real people getting their butts in gear. Kinda like those who wait to last moment to get their application in.

Sorry I meant hour wise it was the 27th last year but if its anything like the spring draw we will all be either making plans or cursing our luck within a week or so.

my guess is because they will want to do it earlier than last year but not so much earlier as to hold them to a future schedule of being much earlier
