Does anyone have any updated Coq snow level information for around the Coq Lakes Rd area?

I should have been more clear. I'm curious about into the backcountry on the FSRs.

I tried to get up to Coq from Tulameen river road this past weekend and still a significant amount of snow. Didnt make it 500 metres of the approx 22km before being turned back.

I'm just pulling Salmon Belly's leg, we had a running "Toyota vs. Ford" joke fest going last week in Tulameen.
I think he has the ultimate put down ready to go though.
We were pretty even dissing each other until, well I don't want to go there.
Something about Ford brakes. :-(
But yup, there's a poop load of snow still up there. If it all melts at once I'll be fishing from my deck.

Might be up again this weekend, lots of shed work to do and I don't mean game sheds, I mean tool sheds. :icon_frow
It's also an excuse to get away from the Wife and the cat. ;-)
If you are in Tulameen, drop by for a chat / beer, etc.
There was a nice bear at the side of the Hope Princeton in Manning when we came home Tuesday.
Easy to spot, just look for motor homes parked at the side of the road. Makes shooting them ( the bears, not the tourists ) difficult. :D

Alright, next time we take your F150 -- just let me increase my life insurance first. Should we give your new best buddy the tow truck driver a heads up??!

He's on my speed dial, kinda like you need for ditch removal. ;-)

Can anyone give an update on taking the lawless in from the coq? How far can ya get in after recent hot weather and rain? Murphy?

Also curious but I don't expect this to be open for a few more weeks.

My best guess is it's not open yet -- I was there May long and will be back Father's Day weekend. Very late melt this year, was still long stretches of 4+feet of snow May long.

Both roads from coq to tulameen are an easy drive. No snow. 2 small bears down. The burn has lots of deactivations since last there.

Is the coqu "highway" usually clear by the end of march every year ?

Do you mean the #5 itself? Still snowstorms in March -- I always check the highway cams before going over:

FSR's coming off the #5 high up are snow covered in March. Bring a sled

If you mean Lawless to Tulameen I can assure you that it is not usually clear by the end of March, we've run into snow, albeit not fresh snow on Lawless well into June.

Just chatted with the Son, he went via Lawless to Murphy Lakes a few days ago, clear all the way, came back by the River Road, same deal.
Roads in pretty rough shape, could use a grading apparently.

I drive from the summit to tulameen via lawless last weekend and the Tulameen FSR last weekend in my explorer.
No snow to speak of.

Had to go to 1700m to find snow behind Murray Lake this weekend.
