True, but what one kills is also eaten indirectly by other critters like wolves, coyotes, ravens. ;)

Also, don't prairie dogs carry Yersinia pestis aka the Plague, aka the Black Death? They are Death reincarnated into thousands of fluffy rodents. We are just doing God's work...
