not really..I lived up there. Some lakes are still frozen till June. Mid to end of May I see so many bears in my spot. Pretty confident I will slay a grizz.

For sure, you will see them, but if it greens up early they could be spread far and wide. I would go twice, once a week and 1/2 before the may long and then end of may if you dont get it done the first time.

Last year was a good example of just how early spring can come on hot.
If you like the advantage of having some snow cover to reduce the feeding areas, come earlier
If you are just out for a drive, timing doesn't matter

Why ask questions then? Go slay one end of May and post some picks!

Asking because I don't live up there anymore and just curious...is that ok? I know they got a huge snowfall this year and I don't want to drive that far and have no access to where I want to hunt.

Well someone shared their opinion, which I second by the way, and you disagreed with it....I think CL's reply was based on that.

Hmmm year after year things don't change that much..boars come out first...biggest usually first..sometimes inexperienced bears get sluiced out of dens by poor choices and running water..
Choices of when to hunt has more to do with limited access by hunters..ie too much snow yet..
There will be bears out mid May for certain.
Travel like wolves 4 am. .on snow..

Good luck..straight shooting
