Anybody seen any Primos elk diaphragm calls for sale locally in the Lower Mainland?

I pulled my out to start practicing, and it looks like mines are worn out. Too bad I don't have an elk to show for it.

Anyhow,... anybody seen any local?

Oh, you're talking about Elk calls.
Whew, from your header I thought it was going to another nasty debate about birth control methods for big game animals.
Anything to do with personal hygiene and wild stocks gets nasty; check out flossing those poor sockeyes teeth.
Nasty, nasty topics.

I find I get a bit more volume from Jones diaphrams than the rest. A few dollars more ($7.29 at Wholesale) but I think I can get better sound from them. I find most of the other brands make good "squealers" but not great medium and larger bull sounds.

Just make sure you let any elk diaphram dry out properly after use, and don't be suckin on a can of Coke Classic or chewin Copenhagen when you use them.

Ha... I bought a couple Primos and can't get them to make any sound... the only sound is me gagging!!! Any tips on how to use them?

I am not too sure why both of my Primos diaphragms went at once. The latex stuck to the angled soundplate they have. I always wash and dry (air for several days) before I put them away.

I use the location tube with a triple reed diaphragm ,or a double.

Take the pen!$ out of your mouth prior to using the call...

Wayne, what is a location tube? Hope it's not what the Hermit was using!

Take the pen!$ out of your mouth prior to using the call... Frank ,the location tube is a hollow piece of tube about 2 inches ID and about 18 inches long ,with using this tube with the triple reed ,the bugle will carry out a long ways..

Look around for Berry elk calls. They are hands down the best diaphrams I have ever used and I have a collection of about 30 different models from all the big names. They fit the roof of the mouth perfect and stay put as well as making very consistent sounds. I don't give them any special treatment other than a water rinse once in a while and my favorite diaphram is over 10 years old.
