Nicola lake area is a mule deer area, some moose, plus some whitetails in area. Three MUs surround her. mu 3-19, mu 3-20, mu 3-12. Mule deer are in the hills in all of these MUs.

I live in Merritt(Lower Nicola), and had a moose draw up at 3-19b(above Nicola lake and North) There has been a ton of logging along the HWY to Kam from Merritt on both sides. There is deer around but I dont think the hunting is as good as it once was. 3kills's family has hunted that area for lots of years he may have more info. Im not sure if you have a specific place in mind, if you have any questions on the area send me a PM, and Ill help as much as I can. Rob (P.S we never did see a moose:icon_frow)

That's like asking: Are there any capers in this Safeway?
Of course there are, problem is finding them.

New owners of Stump Lake Ranch don't seem to be hunter friendly. Frolek's 101 Ranch on the west side has been closed to hunting for several years. The Stump Lake hunting is pretty much limited.

region 5 is alot more driving than the area in region 3 we are looking. a region 5 trip would need to be at least a long weekend, if not longer. but i have heard good things about region 5. on day i will venture out that far... one day.
