If your not sold on the 6.7 yet. You probably never will be. Probably the most reliable diesel in a domestic truck today. And has been for a while.

Of if not better. It's certainly on par.

Nice truck. Enjoy!

6.7 Ford engine is a HUGH improvement over a 6.0 or 6.4 engines - No Comparisonto the old Puke and Smokes ! They are Way more Quiet - Powerfull and get WAY Better fuel mileage ! :) jmo RJ

Matter of opinion I suppose.

But im not sure which current engine you figure is a better runner these days.

The ol cummins is running off a name it built years ago. The Isuzu is a fine engine too. But that 6.7 PS is a damn fine engine.

With hundred of thousands of kms of hard in the field abuse on them all. And as a long time diesel mechanic. I know the 6.7 is the engine I want carrying me in and out of the bush each night.

After treatment emissions has severly changed the game. The days of the good ol 5.9 are gone.

Ya so far it's the nicest one to drive and I've owned the 2003,2008,2013 previous to this one. Don't really need all the bells and whistles but I'll admit the heated massaging seats will be a treat after a long cold day in the bush.
6.7 has been awesome to me so far.

sweet truck walnutz, nice lookin color combo and great to hear good thoughts on the 6.7L. I just ordered a 17 F350 King Ranch with the options I want from Ford today. 2-3 months of waitin er out.

We have a couple of the new 2017 F250's at work and after 4-5000k lots of squeaks, rattles and a funny noise in the front end of one of them.....but the mechanics cannot find the problem yet. 50% highway, 50% off road on frozen snow covered roads. 6.2l avg 19l/100k so far. Glad I don't own one!!!

I will say they look OK, but they look skinnier than my 2013.

Nice looking truck Walnutz!!

Cheers

Having an 07 Dodge with the 5.9, I'm still enjoying the good ol days. As far as current engines go, I'd do dodge, gm and ford in that order. But that's just me, based off my experiences having each in the past. I know in my family/friends group there's 5 of us with 5.9 cummins, none have had problems that weren't self created so I don't really have a reason to sway from them. To walnutz, that's a fine truck sir, congrats on a nice rig.

03-29-2017, 08:17 AM
It's hard to argue with personal experience. But you can't buy a 5.9 anymore. Times do change.
It's a moot point. They are all fine engines these days. Just the cummins used to stand apart as a powerful fuel efficient reliable engine. Now it's just powerful. Like the rest.

i meant in a new truck.

Yup point taken, just throwing it out there .I rebuilt a 6.9 in my old Ford diesel when the engine cavitated, was painless, sourced a new motor at the wrecker.Took about 1 month for the job complete and ran me around 5500.00 I could have gone down and bit that 50k loan for a new one ..
I just hate to throw away a good vehicle and have to bite off a huge loan.
Most of the post 2005 fully loaded trucks are great vehicles, comfortable and efficient
My 5.9 dodge ram 4x4 gets over 22 miles per gallon ,and can pull one hell of a load ..hard to beat

theres a reason cummins has the reputation they have. It because of engines like yours!

Nice truck please keep us posted on the aluminum body good and bad.Dont know why the dislike of the 6.7 cummins really not all that different than 5.9 we have one as a personal truck thats been great and alot of contractors have gone to them with few problems.6.7 Fords seem good but one look under the hood, not for me.

No dislike for the cummins. Only the emissions non sense has made it impossible for them to stand apart like they have in the past.

Nice truck. Enjoy!

I have a 2011, have put on 250k and not a single issue with the engine except that i have to use cruise control on the highway because if i don't i find me doing a buck thirty all the time :) nice truck. I am waiting to see what the new 150 with the diesel is like i may go down to the 150 from the 350, tough decision.

I agree on all the emissions garbage on any of these new trucks makes them alot less than what the could be.It almost makes me think the average guy might be better off with gas ?

Nice ride for sure......but holy eff:shock:.

I could think of a pile (a really huge pile) of things to do with 90k and none of them involve driving a depreciating asset.

But as I said, sweet rig!

like i said, maybe for some... but not for me.

same deal as spendng 30,000 on a sxs.... when u can bulding up a toyota for about 9,000.... roll it off a cliff, flip t back on ts wheels and drive it home... you'd be waitng on a chopper for you and the side by side
