So I recently purchased a new CZ 455 Lux in .17HMR. It comes with standard iron sights, but I would like to put a decent scope on it. My main uses for this rifle will be grouse, rabbit, and other varmints. I'm thinking I would like to set it up to zero at 100 yards, but also have the ability to see out to 200 yards. But most of my shots will likely take place under 50 yards. For ammo I currently have Hornady 17gr ballistic tip, and 20gr speer point.

So if you have a similar firearm, how are you set up scope wise? What has been your experience with it? Pros, Cons? Price? Type of use? Abuse? Quality? Customer Service? Etc...

Thanks in advance for your responses.

I'm a Leupold guy, so obviously that's where I'd be looking, but regardless, given your shooting ranges I'd suggest an adjustable objective scope to get the most out of the 17. Most rifle scopes are fixed at 150 yards.

I'd get a 4-12X40 or at most 6-18X40...check both out and see what you prefer. Get the best glass you can.
