Myself and a couple buddies are looking into picking up some Garmin Rino 650 since it's at a pretty good price on sale. Does anyone own one? Do they work well? I'd assume the two radio would probably work just as well as any other radio out there so I'm not too worried about that, but being able to message and send your coordinates with your buddies while hunting is definitely could be a life saver.

Had some for mining exploration 4 years or so ago, dropped mine about 10' out of the heli and it was fine, forgot it on an exposed rockface overnight and it still had battery power when i got back. These have saved my butt more then once. If your looking for a good gps/radio i cant say enough about them.

If you hunt where there is cell service that has an app. find friends works Goodall over the world, again if there's cell service.

There are two types of rhinos, US an can.
Can radios are limited to two watts power, the us ones are five.
Dont buy a 2 watt.
I have a us one. Works great.

Does that only affect the two way radio distance?

That's the power they transmit with, peer to peer, talking, ect.

Same as Allan says.... Just be careful if you declare it heard they're not necessarily "legal" in Canada, something about needing a personal license if it transmits over 2 watts or something.... That said our Canadian 2 Watts worked fine if we were in the same Valley, and always pinged our teammates fine

Bought two of the 5Watt 650T Rynos last year from California, no problem getting them and they work awesome.
