For the guys that use Gators, I know there is some terrific quality well made gators out there, no rip or tear, water proof Etc etc, can spend quite a bit on them I you want.

Any body ever make a pair or have a pair made from buckskin?

I have a fare amount of soft, tanned buckskin deer and elk hides and figure I'd make a pair. Laced in the back leg area ....... Should work.

Any thoughts. I think these should be burr, rip and tear free although I do think moisture will be obsorbed but could easily be rung out.

Thanks CT

These would be quiet in the bush unlike the nylon ones from MEC that I wear.

Hey Curly, I actually held a pair two weeks ago that were made from hair on deer hide! Im pretty sure they'd be absolutely silent.

No doubt they will be considerably quieter ........

weight could be an issue, if relying on the top tie above the calf to keep them up, would have to be real tight
Better if they are a full lace up , just like a high moccasin, or google 'WW 1 spats' for some ideas
