Have not lived here long but been hunting this way for 10years. Last 4 years been seeing way less moose than the past and less tracks. Would say things are not well with moose here and my opinion it is do to a number of reasons. Legal hunting of bulls only I doubt has anything to do with.

Locals here been screaming close the GOS and many are anti out of down hunters blaming that as the cause.

Atleast around here numbers are low enough I don't hunt them. Don't know how things look your way but the way things seem here not surprised if the GOS shuts down.

Closing the season is not going to solve the issues and most here don't realize this. No legal cow season and cows are MIA hunting does not cause this

Some areas yes wolves are part of it but not a lot of wolf sign or sightings in many areas. Lots of black bears yes but always have been. My self and others are seeing more grizz in places we never have.

Few years back the heavy dump of snow late in the winter I think maybe a big factor. Habitat has been raped hard in many areas logging/beetle kill. These I see as 2 major reasons for the sudden change. Unregulated hunting is bad as well was surprised at the level after moving here. I made 4 reports last year alone on non FN.

Was at Salmon Arm meetinting. Everyone needs to hear the message Jesse and the Fed. are trying to get out. If we don't stop blaming other user groups and ourselves and start letting the government know their lack of funding and direction is the problem i can see hunting and fishing in the next decade or so coming to a halt.I could not believe how little is being done by our governments to support fish and wildlife budgets over the last 50 years. If you cannot make a meeting lookup the presentation on the Feds. web.

Just wondering how many candidates for the upcoming provincial election are showing up for these meetings - also, what what parties do they represent and what do they have to say? In Prince George only the NDP folks showed up. They expressed some degree of shock and concern about the current state of affairs and funding, but promised nothing in particular.

Green candidate only in Vernon a few weeks back. She stood up with a question & to speak after the presentation. The presenter was very diplomatic in stating the BCWF are a non profit organization & the event was politically neutral, so did not allow her to speak as a candidate. She stayed on after the presentation was adjourned to speak with attendees that had questions for her. Perhaps I should have hung around, but thought it better to head for Dodge. There will be other opportunities to hear what she has to say at events with rival candidates. Still, the fact that she showed up at all, gives her a leg up in my books.

Two Liberal cabinet ministers in Kelowna, plus Greens. They stayed and spoke with anyone who wanted their ear.

No NDP showed - maybe they are afraid of folks in camo jackets?

Great presentation tonight in Langley , should have been hundreds if not a thousands or more there in attendance, being that we have the most hunters and fishers of all the regions in BC.

The why bother, and what a waste of time attitudes have got us to where we are today.

Absolutely shocking the decades and decades of epic failure from the many many governments of BC over time

Folks that are pushing their commitment and caring for fish and wildlife aside in this province .......need to wake up.

A huge Thanks to the BCWF for trying to start to make a difference, it's a start of a long slow climb back.

You nailed it! Apathy is our worst enemy and most of us are guilty! Time to put aside the what can I do attitude and do something even if it just going to your MlA office and bugging him often.
