-=-ll--------> " Hi everyone" we love mule deer hunting I got to keep my hands busy  so I got this thread for you, started. Mule deer in all shapes and sizes muley hunters. First buck to "Four Point Paradise" I am going to pin-point spots using k's and miles and yards and metres.
-- I will add to it as we go. Takes time but hey I got time. Hunted these spots too, saw many. --
--=ll------------------> Region 3 is thee most pleasant hunting area in B.C. <--------------------ll-=
# - Mule deer are found all around Kamloops. In (all directions. North, south east and west.) - #
This is (beautiful country to hunt) and holds fair to good muley's and blue grouse hunting.
We start with M.U. 3-19 - Savona - Tunkwa Lake
--=ll------------> The Summer Range road leaves Hwy 1 just east of Savona, following the old trans Canada Hwy uphill you'll see the broken old hard surface of the old road. First turnoff right from old Hwy, just above the steepest hill runs up thru ranch land, beside a small creek.
--> Ridges (on either side of this small valley are good mule deer) and blue grouse hunting, depending on how far you are going to hike.
---//-------------------->( Good late season trophy bucks in this area )<----------------------------//--
+++---------------- ( Mu 3-19 lies left of Guichon Creek (3-18 on the right. )------------------------+++
- =//----------------->If you go past Tunkwa Lake you hit Logan Lake road <-------------------//=-
Jel -- big buck mules rule the two ridges here especially after snows and the rut comes. Don't bang a huge Blue grouse when yah see them tho, --- could scare a monster mule buck away.

northern most drive right by and don't realize the bucks in here. Use to be a gun range there years ago.
The Summers road and up between the valley and park and start walkin in and see some of the most fascinating country in the entire world why? This word Savano means the environment there, the dirt the plants the animals are all from this dirt called Savano a type of climate and land. makes it unique.
== Ah let me say I did get lucky there and so did many friends over the years.
-- Close to Vancouver a short drive from rain country in Van to mule deer paradise, open ridges and yellow grass with pleasant walking and Bambo, no need to walk far off, just on the ridges around the road there.
This is one of the nicest mule deer spots around anywhere.
Jel -- Durand Creek is the name -- and it izzz hot if you love mule deer -- and blues

That's what this thread is about junior, we're going in every MU surrounding and pounding Kamloops BC
-- We're helping mule deer hunter beginners to be winners, the casual muley hunter will be blown away with visions of 155's coming alive, mule hunters of renown acting like a circus clown when he or she see's the 200 muley typ give em the slip.

Which MU around Kammy are we heading into next?
How bout MU 3-28 coming up soon
Jelly and the Mule Deer on the Westsyde of the North Thompson River out of Kamloops next

Jelvis

=///===============> MU 3-28 Westsyde - Little Fort <=====================///=

- This long narrow unit runs along the west side of the North Thompson River from Westsyde ( North Kamloops) to Little fort. Many logging roads cut back to hilly country above the road to west. Fair muleys in here with some mooses too.
I would recommend heading up Dairy Creek road, this is where the experienced Italian hunters that I know in kammy go every time. Drive up obey first sign on distance till able to shoot ( 9k and past) measure on a map 9k up Dairy Road, good spot and all season, but real good late in a foot of snow.
--- Jamieson Creek is nice too, butt ( washed out now ) down by Kamloops but can reach it at top end still.
--- You can go up Poison Creek which iz a proven spot for nice mules.
I would tend to hunt Skull Mtn later and look for some fine bucks in the old burn about ten years old.
Elbow lake ( Called Crooked by locals) has been a reputable mule deer and grouse spot. By Skull.
No need to go farther out of kammy for great mule deer country. Kamloops iz mule deer country.
--Look these spots up on a Kamloops area map and check out the road in and it takes 45 min to get to Barriere from kammy, no big deal. These spots are all between Kammy and Skull Mtn by Barriere.
I'll come back here and we'll tighten it up a bit, nuff 4 now on MU 3-28 the muley topography 100%

My former stomping grounds. Today much of it is private access, whereas the ranchers used to let
hunters in. There are still areas to hunt, especially if you're willing to hike, just be careful not to get
lost...hunters have died in those wilds. Savona Mt, Little Savona Mt, and Six Mile hill were reputed
to have the highest mule deer concentrations over winter in North America at one time. My father,
brothers, and I have taken many deer, including some monsters, from "Jelvis's" backyard over the years.

-- Let's not get in a stew and let a negative thought about someone's dislike for Reg 3 info being made available to every hunter in the world. Some people don't want to tell of hunting spots or tell in detail where to go in these spots by someone who hunted the area for ever and a day.
-- Some locals and hunters of this Kamloops area if they knew me wood prolly ( try ) 2 kick my butt for spewing these incredible mule deer areas around the Loops.
-- I think at my age and time, I need to help hunters not now, butt right now, to share the places so the new hunters and their partners can know where to go in 2017 and beyond to get a chance to fill a mule deer tag, antlered or antlerless.
--- So there -- every inch will be covered in detail so all people from the Lower Strangeland can bang a gong on a mule for a nice hot juicy deer stew.
Jeldo Rocka Feldo -- Region 3 around Kammy will be examined and explored with proven detail fact tolla.
And now because we're in a stew, I'm going to Spew! Every secret spot of muley success in this thread.

Heyy muley add dick shun cool, yah it ain't ezee sometimes trying to escape the concrete jungle.
--- the thing about Region 3 mules is you can drive up on early Saturday morning and hunt here that day and next on Sunday and drive back with a mule or two in the hunting team.
If I lived down in the Lower Mainland I would plan a long week-ender in November this wood b yer best chance at a mule deer --
Why? November is thee Mule deer rut, the snow at 3000 feet iz on average what 6 inches or so.
The bucks wood not come down any other time that low down and vulnerable, but they follow the doe and fawns and yearlings down to jump them. They lose their focus on predators and focus on the hot females ready to let him mount her. Simple as that.
The buck is so wired, he sees another buck close to a doe that's getting ready to stop. The buck goes ballistic and the two go at it till one gets flopped to the ground, then the flopped jumps up and scrams like a bat outta hell, the winner, get's the romance unless oh oh another buck lookin for trouble.
Jelvis -- One long November weekender in one of our spots on here and you could see dozens of mule deer --
--- P.S. think -- two points fight each other too in the rut but it's not for a doe, the bigger bucks fight to gain access to a number of females which congregate in certain areas to feed or lay down. The muley buck that kicks the most ass, get's the treasure. His offspring are born in Spring/Summer

Looking forward to the 3-27 rundown. I've taken three mulies in that zone (all meat no trophy), and want to see, Jelly, if you have my personal honey hole in your repertoire. Also, I've heard tell of white tails here and there, but have only ever seen one doe.

Treestandman excellent post of sharing good information to help --

I see you come up from the valley and that is interesting because you would know how and when and what is the best time to hunt MU 3-27 too which is by hands on and planning and adventure.
How long a drive too not just in miles but time also with certain weather conditions.
Anyone on the coast or Islands could ferry across and hit the mainland and up the Coq.
Need a five day excursion and some luck and BOOM! Firstly look at the MU's surrounding Kamloops on a map and connect your vision of the eagles eye view, it will start your journey into mule deer country. Once you see the total picture you will want to come up and give it a look see.
We will pick MU 3-27 to bitz and pieces and show some high-light spots for hunters to aim for at least once in some spots and see for themselves the mule deer habitat and know why the mules live there?
Jelvis -- there is some news about more whitetails trying to invade muley country now in Kammy

Jelvis

Hey hi everyone it's Jel on the shore of the Thompson River and man iz Kammy lookin good.
--- Kamloops has the natural eye attractions 360 degrees around from the town but we will measure from the bridge ( Halston Connector ) that goes over the North Thompson River you can find it on your BC Atlas Maps. Chances Casino address is right by it.
--- Always go BC on our stuffs because we hunt BC
--- See the bridge?
Look that up and we can see together the basic starting point to go from and also measure up different spots and the roads to drive on to get to those special muley spots.
--- If your coming up from the south west on the Coq the driving is good, once you hit the Big Bear Shed and climb that mother of a hill your doing alright and on your way to Kammy Double Whammy
--- When you come down the hill into the Loops on the Hwy you see the North as you look up the North Thompson Valley.
--- If you come up to Kamloops in Region 3 in these Mu's I'm pointing out you just need a camper shell to sleep in, don't need a camper. Sleep in the back of the shell with good bags and have a lil camp fire sizzling away and a pot of coffee, and spend your time thinking of how your team is going to nail a nice buck in here where Jel said to go.
--- so you spend on gas or diesel and if you got a shell to sleep in, no need for tent and setting it up and all that. Your here to hunt for some big mules not camping. I would recommend you have one partner or three partners besides yourself , not you and two others. Two get along and four can pair up but three, one's on their own pretty well while the other two stick together.
Jel -- Start planning now for Kammy 2018 and pick the MU suitable to your LEH or regulations. No ATV's now, so still hunting back in black --
Any buck October iz a super opportunity to nail a mule buck, see antlers, safety off, lift, aim, BAM!

-=-//------------------------------------------> MU 3-27 <----------------------------------------------//-=
------------------------------------------Pritchard - McGillivray Lake---------------------------------------------
Mu 3-27 is bounded on the south by the South Thompson River and Hwy 1.
At Pritchard, midway betwixed Kamloops and Chase, a road crosses the South Thompson River. Shortly after leaving the bridge, a right fork runs up river to Chase. This gives access to Niskonlith Lake, to the cutoff via the Bear Creek to Adams Lake and, a good forest access road continues uphill to (high country) around McGillivray Lake. Some mule deer on the ridges on the way into the Lake.
not much on Bear Creek road

Pritchard - Hyas -- in MU 3-27 -- Continue uphill beyond Chase back road turnoff. A few k's a long, a right turn leads to a ranch road that runs through the hills above the South Thompson River and goes back jack to Kamloops. Fair to poor for mule deer and grouse above the road, lot's of private land around too. To reach ( Pemberton Ridge) keep ahead, uphill on Hyas Lake road. This ridge iz fair mule deer hunting, get this, ( with trophy heads) late in the season. Before the ridge a left turn runs down to Pinitan Lake then out to Paul lake, then to Yellowhead Hwy 5.

Heffley Creek - Louis Creek -- in MU 3-27 -- mmm deaner's hideout
-- A road up Heffley Creek runs in past Heffley Lake, with turns offs to Knouff Lake.
Another road runs into the hills behind McClure on Hwy 5, connecting with this road system. Beyond Heffley Lake a road left runs out to Louis Creek, with side roads give access to fair mule deer hunting.

Jel -- will pin-point as we go along towards 2018 hunting season -- as we go -- NEXT? 3-29

----> BigBanger we're goin in, 2018. Into the mule's house, where they reside and abide and we the hunter takes pride in our surroundings. the Kamloops area and mule season iz the ony reason.
-- Big fours and lil bucks, like a semi- truck and a honda civic, they both get you there believe it.
Region 3 on the tree is better than four on the floor.
----> MU's around Kammy Double Whammy, are solid in history of many many hours of full driving and walking the gorgeous hills until we get our fill, hunting on the hill.

---------------------------------------------M U 3 - 29------------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------Tranquille - Red Lake - Criss Creek-----------------------------------------------

The Tranquille Creek road climbs up from the valley just east of Tranquille, winding far above the stream along clay and rock ridges. A road left meanders among the bluffs to Copper Creek. Other roads run out in the ruff ridges, giving access to fair mule deer hunting. Zip Pow!
A band of California bighorn sheep and grouse along the north shore of Kammy Lake.
The road forks 32 km from Tranquille with right fork into Tranquille Lake and the left to Red Lake and Criss Creek area.

-- Savona - Red Lake
----- A road turns north from Hwy 1 west of Savona just b4 the crest of the hill up from Thompson River bridge. This gives access into Red Lake-Criss Creek-Tranquille Lake area. Note: Good grouse hunting. Fair mule deer late in season.

-- Deadman Creek Road
------at 11 km west of Savona, a north running road leaves Hwy 1, passing thru the Skeetchesen Indian Reserve for 12 k, about 17 k from Hwy 1 it crosses Criss Creek, where a logging road runs back into country mentioned above.
Just above Criss Creek a left turn opens into Back Valley, this road runs thru mainly open country, past three small lakes and comes out at Cache Creek. Late season best in here for moose and mule deer.
The gas pipeline is crossed a few k past this turn.
The road along the pipeline runs back to Hihium Lake, fair moose and deer along the top. Continuing along Deadman Creek, this road runs thru fair mules and moose late season as your hunting towards the old Vidette mine site.

Some of these spots where decent, but hunting growing hunting pressure has pushed them farther into the dark bush (fine for me, because I know where they hide). Not sure why someone would want more coastal's hunting in his spots?

--------------------------------------------3-20--------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------Nicola Lake - Kammyloops--------------------------------------------------

=-//-------> Large mostly open range land folks, this is a large management unit, bounded by Hwy 5 on the west, the South Thompson (Hwy 1) along the north and by the Douglas Lake - Westwold road.
---- from Hwy 5, several roads run back into muley country with the occasional moose.
---- Mostly mule deer and the occasional whitetail deer, are found here.
---- The Glimpse and Peterhope lake roads run into the south end of MU 3-20.
---- Roche Lake runs back into a fair network of roads from the end of Trapp Lake on Hwy 5
---- just beyond this, the Squitto Creek - Campbell Lake road runs generally eastward, connecting with Robbins Range road, which runs west from Hwy 97.
---- From Westwold the Salmon River road follows that stream up to Salmon Lake, then down to Douglas lake.
Ok we're surrounding Kamloops with Region 3, Mu's.
More detail on all units here as we go towards 2018 deer seasons.

I might live on the coast, but I grew up in Kamloops, and my dad, bc8x8, always has, so I have local knowledge. 3-27 is can be challenging, mostly because it's pretty thick. There is fair road access and lots of cut blocks, but these see a lot of pressure and for me are not productive. I find success off the beaten path. It's like real-estate: location location location.

Jelvis
03-17-2017, 06:23 AM
Good one Treestandman on 3-27 and how just getting off the beaten path can help you find secret holes where deer hide from the hunting activity they see and hear coming in hunting season.
Adjust to the time and pressure this way.

----Note: When you come up you can stay on the North Shore of Kamloops at night and drive out and back. Drive out half hour b4 sunrise from Kammy into your spot hunt all day if yah want then an hour back. One kind of a situation to consider
-- we will show those closer by for this, residents do it all the time.
Then you can check out the entertainment -- we have a nice Casino called Chances for an early evening for an example.
-- and other hunts out can be done from Kammy with an hour drive one way so no big squeal
Jel -- so me, rock and Roddy are going to team up with you and beat the clock --

Here is the address of Chances Casino, the Casino is by the west end of that bridge over the North Thompson.
-- put the address in and see if you get a location map of this spot.
This is bulls eye for a center point to expand out from, we need a location address to see it so here it is.
--------------------- 1250 Halston Avenue - Kamloops - chanceskamloops,com - ---------------------
Close by the recreation fields at the Singh St and Parkcrest Ave.
Roddy lives down that way.
=-//------> This is center of the radius out to muley lands of great fun around Kamloops. <----/=
Jel -- read from beginning of thread and keep up with new posts as we head for thee up and coming 2018 Reg 3 hunting season. No ATV's now!

As we go along here I can pinpoint two good spots in each mu noted in this here thread folks.

Good one Treestandman on 3-27 and how just getting off the beaten path can help you find secret holes where deer hide from the hunting activity they see and hear coming in hunting season.
Adjust to the time and pressure this way.
Jel -- thanks Tree -- for your input here -- No No No!!! There ain't no critters left in 3-27! It's a waste of time and gas to even think about hunting around here! With all the Radiation still leaking out of the ground, the Pine beetle and Fir Beetle kilt every tree, it's a waste land up here, believe me! With the 2 headed deer and 3 eyed kids runn'in around, it ain't safe either! I can't count the trucks and campers I've seen drive by here, happy hunters just a grinn'in and a wav'in at me, then 3 or 4 days later maybe one outa 10 might crawl back out'a them woods, all beat up and bloody, scream'in for there Mummies! Ain't a pretty site for sure! So ya, Don't hunt in 3-27 no more!!!

--- Roddy says, another glorious option for moose, mules and black bear is go past Heffley turnoff on Hwy5, keep on Hwy 5 north out from Kamloops.
--- As you pass the Heffley Creek turnoff and your going north on Hwy 5, look at your Back roads map and (see Vinsula on Hwy 5 the Yellowhead.)
-- Now (look just before) reaching Vinsula on Hwy 5, a road shoots off the yellowhead hwy right (east) it is going up to Knouff Lake area, this is one road that Roddy says, "Jel this is where I'd send your buddy."
-- If Roddy likes Knouff Lake area the muleys are in there for sure.
------ Look at Vinsula on the map in comparison to the Heffley Creek turnoff area, (the distance in K's between them), where the roads branch out and where they go? By water, ponds, marshes, open fields and meadows with trees and bushes. And where they come out onto Hwy 5 again on the Jellohead.
=-ll------------> Jel - thanks so much for Roddy the Body -- this is an A+ region close to the south central easy to get too and fast 3 hours from the Fraser Valley going slow.and in mu 3-27 for mule deer and local moose, plus wild cats, coyotes, odd wolf, ducks, grouse, rabbit, black bear and much more. I would pick this one myself plus Louis Creek exit next for a gorgeous top of the charts muley country, just up from Vinsula.
---------> See where roads connect on your Backroads BC Maps from Vinsula, Heffley Creek and Louis Creek and plan accordingly it's all beauty country east of the beautiful and a lil above Hwy 5 in MU 3-27 Kammy Loops is waiting for you!

A road up Heffley Creek runs in and past Heffley Lake, with turnoffs to Knouff Lake. Another road runs into the hills behind McClure, ( check map for McClure) on Hwy 5, connecting with this road system. Beyond Heffley Lake a road left runs out to Louis Creek, thee home of the original Mule Deer Zeke from Looey Creek and side roads to explore as soon as you step out of the pick up door to explore with mule deer wandering around. Moose once abundant now down to LEH.

Wow good luck Region 3 guys who have worked their ass off to get some Paradise. In the old days it was more fun finding a productive place and leave with a tight lip!

I hear ya, Ive spent about 5 years striking out up there but figuring out the area on my own and finally connected on my first mulie last season, I actually did alright in a spot that you gave some tips on (you gave me a set of quad tires a couple summers ago and we chatted for a bit) I know 5 years isn't long compared to some guys but damn, put in some work on your own its a lot more rewarding when you finally do connect. Hey Russ here's my buddy Roddy and he wants to ask you something, hey Roddy.

Hey I'm Roddy and I noticed you called my bro a troll and I want to know what the word "troll" means to you in the context of Jelly being what? Then I will figure it out.

---- Ok Roddy that's it for now I've been called a lot worse than a troll b4 and will be again so no big deal to me, butt Roddy, he joined the group and now reads the thread as it goes dah Body is kinda going over board I think but he's in the living room now huffin and a puffin, working out with some kinda weights and hittin the heavy bag, he get's to a point where he can't sit still.

Anyways we won't be Badgered at Badger Lakes, Little Badger Lakes check your map and see

=--l-----> Badger Lake FSR ( forest service road ) just below McClure on Hwy 5, and see this road heading east to Struthers, Spooney and Badger Lakes now see the road hooks up and passes (Martin Meadows lake), this is a prime area Note: this road comes out just south of Exlou on Hwy 5 Yellowhead so go up and down this road and get the feel it's the real deal Holy Fields.
=-/-prime mule deer spot ----> It go's and comes out either way to Hwy 5, Roddy just gave me the nod, says, try this spot or your missing a preemo muley and moose area. <---preemo spot--/-=
---Note thee north end of MU 3-27's boundary is the Louis Creek road, this road gives access to the mu 3-27 also and is well known for hunting success per hunter ratio.
So you got 3-27 and don't really need anything else cuz super Mu 3-27 iz muley heaven.
Grouse, black bear moose mules whites and you name it and go claim it.

Fadear Creak with Mule Deer Zeke in 3-27 Next, look up Blucher Hall up the Louis Creek road.
And look at Cahlity
Jel with Roddy, and Zeke up the creek -- more coming muley people soon
Check Fadear Creek next with Fadear Mt and Moose Meadows look it up in 3-27 we're going to two step out to Badger round and round the dance hall floors.

1. We are starting from the area of the Barside Lounge and Grill @ chances casino north shore Kammy you saw in the previous posts on this thread. Use this as a place of center out.
--------- Mu 3-28 is a marvelous MU and we will pick it apart so the newbie and some who hunted but have not connected yet will have a good chance to score, and hunters looking for trophy mule buck heads can find them in this MU 3-28. Trophy mule bucks in this MU 3-28 we will be there.
--------- That will be Next mu 3-28 hunters of the mule and moose and grouse in the gorgeous South-Central Interior of B.C. Kamloops Country, the best mule hunting in the world folks.
Jelvis --> look at your map of Westsyde road right from the start, the casino on the North shore of Kammy. Now follow the Westsyde road out north to Skull Mtn and see off roads going west like Black Pines rd and (Dairy Creek rd for instance), check on your map, see where and how high Dairy road goes and the off shoots.to get familiar and it will reward your hunt. Dairy road leads to great hunting.

-- I want all hunters wanting to hit Kamloops this year for mules to ask yourself
1. what kinda of mule am i after -- any legal one I can, or hang on til I see a bigger mature 4 point or so and get a chance to shoot a sure shot. BOOM! Time of the season makes a difference.
2. how am I going to enter MU 3-28 after leaving from casino to get to Skull Mt? Either up Westsyde road the west side of the North Thompson River or drive up to just barely past Barriere on Hwy 5, cross the bridge over the North Thompson. If you choose to drive up hwy 5 to get to Skull now your in 3-27 as you drive up hwy 5 the Yellowhead. and then turn left (west) on the Westsyde road where it comes out on the Yellowhead hwy 5, by Barriere check map -- The North Thompson river splits the mu's -- this is yours and mine options and we will weigh them out as we go. Skull and Goo Dro r in Mu 3-28
3. keep up to date here
4. look at MU 3-28 mu boundaries
5. Look @ Topo maps and study the north end by Skull and Goudreau mountains with your map to get a birds eye view of this mule deer haven especially in the rut and fall and new snow in dah hillz and where the Westsyde road comes out to Hwy 5.
I'm going slow and methodical for now, to get this right for 2018 muley season in MU 3-28

-----------------------
Attention:--> Note (Fishtrap Creek) on your topo map and follow where it (crosses Westsyde road) and follow, " where the creek comes down from." to get an idea of migration for mules to follow down. Fishtrap Creek runs down touching Skull mt on the south end as you see.
Fishtrap Creek is where fish were trapped by the locals years ago.

--------------------MU 3-28 @ Skull and Goo droh. R u with me so far?------------------------------NO more ATV"s for hunting in MU 3-28
Sept 2018 til Dec ten? --- which days can you make it for a chance to walk where legends have hunted?
=-//---> Topo, topo topo, and measure on your topo and write on your topo, so you have a picture in your muley mind where your parking the first day of your first hunt at Skull.
Measure the distance from Skull to Westsyde road and skull to Elbow Lake some say crooked but elbow on some maps. Camp Nine Lake is right near it so see Camp Nine, good spot.
---> Use topo and a tape measure and measure from the beginning of Goo droh to the other end of Goo droh. This will give you an idea of it's not that far after all.
---> This area was struck with a huge fire the ( McClure Fire) look up on internet. Will show some area.
---> Anyways we're going to get you a buck in the truck for a lucky newbie out there, who is making Goo droh a place for now, and the rest of your muley hunting life.
- Ten year olds can go along with dad or mom and learn this area now and they can go back with assurance their in the best deer country in the Kammy area, The North Thompson Valley year after year.
- Good walking and opened up with fire so good optics, a 20 power spotting scope and you can spot deer from many vantage points, now how to get close enuff to get a killing shot?
-- This planning is a big part of the enjoyment and it's now with you getting together with who you want to take or go with. Look at topo together and talk plans and go from here and now.

=-ll----> Here is one spot we have to clear your minds about, I want you to take a magnifying glass and have a map with 1: 50,000 or so for detail and you can use pencil and erase or correct or upgrade your new precious spot your team found.
--> Now! When you center out (from the Casino -- Barside Grill and Lounge place center.)
When you go across the bridge onto the Hwy 5 by the Casino the (Halston Connector) cross and go north on the Yellohead number five, drive to Barriere but stay on Hwy 5, then just over the North Thompson on the bridge by Barriere on Hwy 5 turn west, look it up and at it.
--> Use magnifying glass. Now once past bridge take a left soon. Look where the westsyde road comes out just after the bridge, (this is the road you want to go up.) Will use actual measures later.
=-//-----> This is a very important road for us muley mad Goo droh buck hunters. Check this now and remember it. Use pencil.
----------> You notice this road meets the (Gorman Lake fsr,) and Gorman Lake road takes off, see this and see Mt Hagen, will talk about higher up in elevation as we get closer to the beginning of the season in MU 3-28. The Gorman Lake fsr is excellent area also, but right now we are Skullians and Goo Droh Adventurers.
=-ll-------> use magnifier and see the connection from the Yellowhead and the Westsyde road.
This is a must to get you into Goo droh and some world class mule deer territory only an hour from the Casino center out.
------ Just past the bridge that goes over the North Thompson river (by Barriere on Hwy 5), turn left (west). Look at this important place for newbies and team to get off the Hwy 5 into Goo droh.
More later, but you must look at this first.
Jel, Roddy and The Nor River Rocko now including Roxy Fox and -- them boyz -- Skull Mtn and goo droh is our home no matter where we lay our heads! -- more after you have time to look this up. This spot will satisfy your spirit and soul. Then the venison for the body, BAM! c yah soon

None of my region 3 spots listed so far lol

To those reading these spots listed they are a starting point at best you are going to need to find the pockets within them

Lots of good places to hunt in region 3 but if you don't put in your dues to learn them you will be skunked just the same as any other location. Don't go chasing magic areas pick a spot and learn every tree you will be better off in the long run

- I'm going to let the Wolsey Warrior herself explain,
Hey guy's and galz it's me again, oh the fun times - it's Roxy and I'm going to give you the key to Goo dro ridge and some of the world class mule deer habitat, the KEY?
--- Write this back road name down to Gooey droh now! Just above Peterson-Betts rd which you go past, as soon as you get off Hwy 5 onto westsyde you snake up a few short switch backs and see Wolsey Rd, to your left ( south ) most drive by thinking it's the lil hobby farms but it isn't it goes to goo droh on Crown. Turn off westsyde onto Wolsey now as soon as you hit the far cattle gaurd bout 1k you see it on the map, your open to shoot. The farm guy don't own dick past that cattle gaurd parralell to his lil barn.
Check your map now for Wolsey Rd immediately before Jel pulls it off -- Roxy ( the Wolsey ) Warrior.

=-//------> Mt.Goudreau with the Wolsey Warrior herself Roxy, for now and hopefully forever <---

-- Mule hunters start your engines, it's Rox and you follow my instructions and hints on this Wolsey Road and hunt Goo droh for the amazing mule deer.

-- Let's start right and proper, use your topo about a 1-50.000 or so of Goo droh.
I will measue k's from where the Wolsey rd starts off Westsyde at the beginning of Wolsey road we measure in kay lom mee ters.
-----> See the guys lil hobby farm, then see it's a 1km long and the road crosses Camp Nine creek.
Start measure from Westsyde and Wolsey is 0. Zero K -- .0
--- Look at your topo and see these key spots and where to measure from, Zero.
Then I can proceed with accurate k markings and you will get out at certain spot to start your hunt.
Roxy
--- Hey follow these instructions by Roxy and look at your topo to see spots mentioned above

------ Thanks hunters your so nice to Roxy and me too, as well as others.
- I got a new fella to join in the Goo droh games, Rick ( the Mullet Bay ) Riddler is joining the team with Roxy bringing Rik in to help, use some riddils for hints and to help remember the key words.
------ Hey it's Rikster the Mullet Bay trickster. Surrounding Goo droh, in on Wolsey and really confident and sure, cuz what Roxy bin sharin, it needs some respect or ye might reject, positive karma and rewards. Big moss back giving you the slip.
------ The Goo dro mountain is like a fountain, for newbies on a roll and eyes wide open. A new hunter will nail a trophy mule buck with a little luck and chance, who ever you are, your party is going to dance, the victory, the moment, the muley buck, the ground round.
-- Hunters we got the Rikster on board for the whole 2018 muley in and on Goo droh.
OK I believe that's the whole entire team up here watching Goo dro land.

=-//-----> High everyone following this Kamloops center out thread. Muley and Moose.
I'm kinda waiting to show exact K's from Westsyde and Wolsey, the Zero point with Roxy's K's.
-- I don't want us getting ahead of ourselves concerning exact K'e right now, this Wolsey road on either side is great for muley, altho it's comng sooner than I was wanting with Rik jumping on the Wolsey Wagon. Anyways here's Rik,

-- Yah whad up? it's me Rickster the Mullet Bay Riddler @ Jelly's in the Loops. I want to spill the beans and crank the K's but I'm in a mule deer haze, in a spinning radical Goo droh maze.
Walked on Wolsey after 1k and pulled a full sleigh, after two I had a chew. All the way on Wolsey except from Zero to 1 I dint unload my gun, the hobby rancher wouldn't let me have my fun.
After k 1, on Wolsey from zero, and his little cattle gaurd and fence, I brought Betsy out of her case and started searching thee place, on either side of Wolsey for thee muley face.
-- OK Rik let's not get ahead of ourselves for now -- Rik get's excited fast folks when talkin goo.
Jelly -- the mullet spewing and educating new bees on the Wolsey road warrior team thanks Rik.
-- our own Roxy coming soon -- K's by the number muley's by the score -- lookin for the big 4 --

I got a book i kept notes in of around Mt Hagen, look up Mt Hagen.
Roddy says, Hagen way is a good way, look above from our Zero, and see Mt Hagen.
-- You drive past Wolsey on Westsyde , off the Hwy and up to Hagen, will note some k's from our Zero soon.
Jel -- this area has a maze of history for mule deer from high down to low. Blue grouse also.
Hagen down to Goo dro -- a natural migration route for mule deer family -- history does not fib.
Butt: you gotta get out here and start doing some looking and scouting, then hiking with a gun.

Damn these threads move fast some time. Grew up in the loops but not related to Jelly ( I think??). Spent almost 40 years in 3-27 and know it pretty good. Getting harder to hunt with the heavy cutting and dense regrow (I like to walk not talk)but the bucks are still in pockets albeit with an extra appendage or three. Was doing some camping up at red lake this year and saw some pretty good sign. Might try the open bush for a change.

=///===============> MU 3-28 Westsyde - Little Fort <=====================///=

--- Jamieson Creek is nice too
--- You can go up Poison Creek which iz a proven spot for nice mules.

Jelvis and others.

Just saw this thread. I am a new member and I am happy to see that folks here are willing to share insights and spots. I have been hunting for almost 35 years and I am always willing to share and mentor new hunters and encourage them not to give up. Tenacity is a virtue all hunters have and one that should be encouraged to those who will take up the hunt after we all are long gone. I understand the frustration and reasoning of some members who say great hunting spots should remain sacred. We are all a bit like that and there is nothing wrong with that. But one other thing we all have in common is the pride we take in sharing the knowledge we have gained over the many years in the bush with those near and dear to us. By sharing with others, Jelvis and those like minded men and women are keeping the faith and showing those outside the hunting community that we are indeed family and hope for others to be part of this family. Jelvis ---- we thank you!

All I can say Jelly, you may have to rewrite some of this stuff if they start logging off all those mature fir stands etc below 1500m mark in the winter range habitat areas.
I already saw my area being "taped off" for cut blocks.
Once that happens, and the fact that the entire plateau has been leveled, I doubt anything will be normal up there again for
50 years.

Very timely thread Jel thanks for the bump. We're just ready to do our annual Coasties and Islanders trip up to the infamous region 3! We're all about doing our part for climate change so we're car pooling. We've got a 60 passenger bus hired, may have to add another as confirmations roll in, we'll see abou that... And two of the bros are bringing their B train semis that'll hold all the atvs etc :) Ya so anyways thanks again we'll have this thread up on the big screen for sure as we travel on up

Honestly , maybe Stew was outa line somewhat. But with the Mule deer populations dwindling all over BC. Why would you go on the computer and tell the whole province where to go hunt . If I was local in some of these areas and you gave away one of my favorite spots over the internet. I would be f*$#n pissed off too. Why cant a guy just have a coffee with a few people and give some helpfull info. All your actually doing here is forcing more pressure onto a resourse that is already facing too much pressure. These types of threads leade to less game on the hillsides. More hunter congestion .
Shorter seasons for people and LEH into areas that were GOS..

Stew in my opinion your not too far outa line.

So to increase our deer numbers we need money ... to get money we need more hunters but we want to make it harder for new hunters to get into it by not sharing success stories and razzing on those that are trying to help?

It's not really a big deal, man. All the spots he mentions are spots someone could easily find following the backroads mapbook. And if he mentions your spots in particular, why not just keep quiet and not draw attention to it.

I wouldn't want my spots blown either, but I would never draw further attention to them and admit they were in the list of things he talked about
