Aguacher,
I think he'll make a great first buck for my son come Sept 1st. We'll see how the rest of the summer's scouting goes, but that buck will be one of our prospects.

Husky,
I'll be taking my kids above treeline next weekend. Hoping this heat will kill off some of the bugs by then, but I doubt it.
No goats seen today. The bugs had the critters bedded pretty damn early. All the bucks I saw were running up the mountain to get away from the insects. They all bedded by 6 am.

Holly crap Dana, how can you be wearing a sweater, I was out scouting this weekend too and it was Freaking HOT. 34-36 degrees, even in the mornings it wasn't sweater weather.

Maybe I'll post some pics when I get them downloaded, unfortunatly I didn't see any game but I didn't have time for early morning or late evening glassing either.

Brambles,
Even though we've had 35-39 all week, it was pretty damn cold up high. I was actually wearing long johns too.

Those are great pictures, Thank you. Is there something wrong with this boys hind legs or is it just camera angle??

Nothing wrong with his legs. He stotted really well, once he finally woke up and busted me at 15 yards. Still young enough to stop with a whistle too. :)

hunter1947,
I don't know how cold it got but I was glad I threw the poly longjohns in the pack before I left. I wasn't too uncomfortable in my -40 rated bag either.

I was at 7600 ft and it was HOT, but in all honesty I was off the mountain by 4:30:cry: Wish I could have stayed until dark but the wife and baby were back at camp and I was expected back before I actually got back......

That camera of yours sure does make a difference--guess it was your tracks I saw. Dragged the whole crew along today. Maggs was not up for the summit--or at least we weren't up to her whinning.LOL

Wow your brave to have your family in shorts and short sleeves. You must have found some wind to keep the bugs at bay.
