This scope looks pretty cool and reasonably priced. What do you guys think? http://www.grouseriver.com/Leupold-VX-3i-LRP-4-5-14x50-Riflescope

Good for long range rig but for general hunting scope I think turrets would be getting bumped and snagged on things. If hunting long range open areas like massive cuts or across valleys where shots would be 300 yards plus this scope would rock! Just my 2 cents.

I guess it would depend what kind of rifle your putting it on. Looks pretty chunky for a mountain rifle but would be right at home on a long range rig. I like the reticle options and the fact you can decide on ffp or sfp. The price point seams reasonable.

At just over 20 oz it's not too much heavier than a regular vx3i 3-4 oz heavier...plus it wouldn't be for a mountain rifle just an everyday hunting/longish range shooter. I think it's a real contender for what I'm after

Don't care for the look of it, especially the power ring knob. Otherwise it's probably a good scope. Any place besides GR, and you're golden. Haha.

Not the usual opinion seen here or elsewhere. Details???

I have owned scores of Leupies since 1967, have had only two that required adjustments by the maker/warrantee depot. and one of mine is from 1974, used hard and long on .375H&Hs and my Merkel drilling 12 ga. shooting Brenneke slugs.

I prefer Leupold, overall to Zeiss, Swaro, B&L, etc., and I own all these as well as others. So, would enjoy your explanation if you don't mind.

LOL, you trolling or what are you comparing to? Swarovski or night force or something most of us regular working guys can't afford every day?

If it suites your purpose, go for it, you can't go wrong with a Leupy. I've had many over the years and still own quite a few, never to use a warranty yet.
