Lower parts of bear main, I saw one running at km 4 last week, unfortunately I didn't have a gun as I was in a work truck..

Anywhere where the deer winter. With this deep soft snow, they will be low.

Anywhere along the deer fences between Peachland and summerland ....where it's safe.
Add a fence and they are very good at killing deer.

I hate to be right but here's what I found today. These were 100 yards apart.

After chatting with our wildlife bio today, he suspects 'cat' on that second one. Carcass remained untouched after 36 hours

Hunters definition of Coyote Ugly..

Song dogs cant be under estimated, especially in a strong pack...

Look what happened to a couple of Ridge Backs in Rural North Langley, 2 months ago...

Those dogs were bred to take on Lions for **** sakes...

Looks like a Cat Kill - neck and head - Funny the Yotes didn't move in on it - Must have being chasing deer elsewhere ! RJ

Ya, looks more like a cat killl a yote kill. Plus cats are more shy and may have not felt comfortable feeding right beside the hwy even at night.

I was down at the sheep count yesterday and stopped by the kill on the way home. Was surprized to see it still intact.

Found a second one too?
Guess the footprint of development impact doesn't stop at the fence line
on the up side, a wolf would have dragged it off pdq

One of the reasons we should be voicing our opinions on the proposed Peachland bypass. More bad news for wildlife especially in a winter like this one where they need access to lower elevations.

So I set up a tcam for the past week and caught the culprit on cam. He never left the kill for three straight days. Slept right next to it. Sure wish I checked the cam earlier....with my bow.

How do we go about fighting the bypass???? Is through our local sportsmans clubs the only way?? Cool pics btw..
