I'm Thinking About Buying A Sako 75, 30-06, Synthetic Stock With A Bushnell Elite 3200 Scope On It. Brand New. Would Anybody Have An Idea What Would Be A Fair Price For It. Any Comments On This Particular Rifle And The Best Ammo For It Would Really Be Appreciated. Or Would There Be Another Better Rifle To Invest In. This Rifle Would Be Used To Hunt The Larger Game Like Elk And Moose.

If I were you I'd spend some time on the Wholesale sports web site http://www.wholesalesports.com/ search out what all is in the deal your looking at and add up the prices. That will give you a good idea.

well if you're buying it off a guy, even if the rifle is not fired, its not going to be worth full retail price

a stainless synthetic Sako 75 in mint shape should fetch $1300, and an Elite 3200 in 3-9x40 would be worth about $200.

You seem to to have the price perfect and the scope. I think you really know your stuff. This gun for the shape it is in seems too nice to leave. It looks like it hasn't even shot a half a box through it, and the stock doesn't have a bit of a scar on it. The only thing that scares me is WHY would somebody have wanted to part with it. So for that money do you think it is worth it to buy it or is there something else on the market that would be a better bang for my buck. Also I have a 300 Sako Weatherby with a matte stock in great great shape and I was wondering what i could get for it.

if you could get the Sako 30-06 for $1450 it would be a very good buy. People often sell nice things because they need $ or their priorities change. Scoop it up if you like it

Thanks, I think I will just do that. It seems like a beauty. Do you have any thoughts on how much for my other gun I want to sell, the Sako Model M995 in 300 Weatherby. Sorry to keep bothering , but the knowledge seems endless on here. Great site. I'm a NEWBIE

I'd say keep the 300 Weatherby and forget about buying a 30/06. I think if some's good, more's better if you are hunting moose and elk. But then again, I have magnumitis.

I too would keep the 300 Weatherby, Its a perfect gun for Moose and Elk. Unless your not handeling the recoil well, I dont know why you would want to get the 30-06 and dump the 300. That's my opinion anyway.

I would buy the .30-06, definitely KEEP the .300 Roy and get into handloading for both of them. The .06 is cheaper to practice with, the .300 is a REALLY effective cartridge at long ranges and it WILL shoot, IF, you can.

Selling rifles that really work for you is a bad move, as I have learned the hard way. Two good big game rifles is a GOOD plan for a serious hunter, I have 27 at present and NEED more! Well..........want??????

Unless the 300 WBY is messed up somehow keep it. It is one of the best big game (moose/Elk/Griz) calibers can buy... why do you want to change?

I agree...it is never a question of need...always want!!! Actually I don't think you would be happy with the Sako 75, I have one in 300 Win Mag and it is just awful. If you send me the phone number of the guy who wants to sell the 30-06 I will contact him to let him know that it is an inferior rifle. I may even purchase it from him because I feel bad that he has to hunt with a crappy rifle like that.........:-D

They are probably getting rid of the Sako becuase it is a pound heavier then comparitive rifles from the other major manufatures.

The Sako 300 Weatherby was given to me and I really don't need it. I was just wondering what a fair price would be to sell it. It's is immaculate.
