Has anyone ever taken a Bison with a bow on this site?? What did you feel was the best broadhead?? I'm thinkming Thunderhead 125's?
One good shot behind the boiler room should do the job.
Any help would be great.

About 15 years ago I shot a bull using a 4-blade Muzzy, 1" or 1 1/8". I can't remeber the weight but was in the middle some where (100 -110 gr). Shot from 25-30 yards. Broadhead tip broke the skin on the other side (possibly from falling over). Bull jumped a couple of feet, walked about 40' stopped for a bit and then fell over.:-D

Good luck

I've only shot deer with the old Pearson Deadheads, they work very well and are cut on contact broadheads which I prefer.

As long as it is sharp and strong and legal then just about any broadhead is a good choice.

What weight of arrow are you using?

Just make sure it's legal tackle and you'll be fine; Hunting and Trapping synopsis, page 16. Bow E, Bison Only.

That tackle will have enough power to do the job just fine, the bigger thing to worry about will be shot placement.

Doing a Bison hunt myself this year, so I've been really making sure my tackle is up to par ;)

Has someone got a diagram for the Kill Zone of a Buff ? Slightly different than moose or elk ?

I'd use a G5 Montec in 125 Grain. They work great and are very strong. After killing your bison, give it a quick sharpen and keep hunting!

There was a thread on the kill zone a while ago. Try a search.
