So the big freeze is on and field hunting is dead..Not really, went out tonight at 3:30 to take the dogs for a run and thought aaww throw a dozen floaters in check out the slough alongside the field see if there frozen over in Delta. The field had 700 widgeon on it put them up through the floaters in the slough had 4 widgeon and 3 mallards by quitting time no robo no huge decoy spread no blind just sat in an indent on the slough. They zeroed on those dekes like a train on rails .even with 2 dogs running around, one which is white.Guess they are willing to overlook somethings when there hungry.

I have to ask...are the fields you hunt public-access land? I just don't see that kind of action in the usual places.
