Hey every one,
to me the sight or picture of a back pack with a Rack, Head, or a set of Horns, strapped, tied to it ....... Makes my blood warmer. Takes me into the moment. My pack in hunts have been some of my best hunts, maybe it's all the hard work that makes YA appreciate it more. I'm not good at posting a pic or two, but will try ......

Looks to be a trapper nelson with the mulie, nice to see packed out a fair bit of animals with them.

Yes we left arrows there. Pretty cool bit of history they keep at Tatogga Lake Lodge. Awesome place all around.

Yup that is a Trapper Nelson of a buddies we lost to health ....... He's terribly missed but would be proud to know and see that his pack is still put to good use, in this case, with a Cranker MDeer taken this season. I have a Trapper pack in my man cave, to uncomfortable for me, but I still love it, compared to today's standards, packs have come a long way, and I'm cheap, I use a Camptrails ....... But hey, Trapper Nelsons still work. Very well made for their day.

When I look back through all my photo albums, this is one where I have often forgotten to take photos. Usually at this stage you are focused on the pack out and all the hard work to come, and often seem to forget to be snapping photos of this integral part of the hunt. Only got one, never found anything in the back country of the EK worth packing out while I lived there. "This is where a buck lives " I said to my buddy as we approached this basin. I had jumped an ok buck early in the summer there. I got my rifle out as we peaked over the edge and into the basin. Immediately we saw a buck running out of there, something below had scared him, and he was leaving. He stopped for a few seconds to watch his back trail... Buddy said "shooter, He will may go 160". So I shot him..... 404 yrds. This buck fooled us. Turns out he had a decent fork on one side and a decent fork on the other opposite fork so from the side, and that distance he looked like he had decent front and back forks, He actually had crab claws on each opposite fork. Oh well September mule deer taste fantastic. 14 hrs up and around and 3 down!

Wow congrats on a nice antelope! That's a hell of a packout for a mile, I find if you have the animal strapped as close as possible and tight to your core, it makes it WAY easier..

I harvested my Antelope in Southern Alberta South of the great City Manyberries..... LOL what a laugh that place was. I'm super pleased with my first I had 14 Years of draw priority he doesn't have the greatest cutter but did score i think a shade under 70".

Congrats that is a great moose. The 2 guys holding hands packing it out is a different picture.

Forgot about that elk!
I took "them" out as the hunter wanted his first bull and said I can help him out with that.

I pulled him off 2 bulls earlier that day explaining that we can do better.
I remember sitting on the ridge above a well known bedding area.
It was about 1 in the afternoon.
Took me about 15 minutes to pick out the first cow.
After an hr plus of glassing I was up to 13 cows.....no bull.

The "hunter" was snoozing while I was working the glass.
Finally found the bull tucked behind/underneath a large blowdown.

After we got set up I got the video cam out and filmed his shot.
Couple bugles got the bull out of his bed and within a few minutes he finally gave us a clean look to close the deal.

He made a great shot.
Called 358mag and he was in to help extract in a heartbeat.
358 is a surgeon when it comes to deboning for packing.

Completely forgot about this bull.

Ya I had to retire some undergarments from the deer pack in my time too;)
Actually quite a bit cleaner if a guy can leave thoracic cavity stock with diaphram intact for the trek out. Lungs don't weigh a thing!

Thank ya!! The only cams I have out this year, are a couple goat cams but in a no hunting area ( only for fun and training throughout the summer for the dog and I). I didn’t get any sheep cams up this year. These forest fires tho, are making it difficult to retrieve my goat cams.

I have a goat leh for the smithers area, I may head up and set up a couple cams in September. Iv watched them do their rut thing a few times over a few seasons, I have a spot that I think I’d get some good pic’s. I don’t really plan on hunting my leh until November-February.

edit!! I read your question wrong there.

No this ram is a diffrent spot then the sheep cam i had set out a couple seasons ago, probably 30-40 km as a crow would fly.
