Ever wonder what sort of KE you should be shooting (need) when you go bow hunting?

Wonder if you're shooting enough for the game you're hunting?

;)Here's some guidlines as to where you should be before you draw back on your next dinner target.

Here is a list of what seems to be the general consensus. Remember,
nothing is better than a well placed shot.
Small Sized Game (rabbit, game birds, etc.) - 25 ft-lbs
Medium Sized Game (Deer, antelope, etc.) - 25-40 ft-lbs
Large Sized Game (Elk, Moose, Black Bear) - 50-65 ft-lbs
:eek:Dangerous/Tough Game (Cape Buffalo, Grizzly bear, Polar bear, Musk Ox, etc.) - 65 ft-lbs and above.

I think I read the kinetic energy on my guardian is 81 pounds so I guess i'm good, I usally use a heavier carbon arrow 9-10 grains per inches better be safe than sorry

I'd say that anything over 50 lbs is something that is "good-to-go".

Her'e a link to Gold Tip's KE Kalculator and their recommendations.
