My 14 year old daughter has taken a buck every year since she was 10. I usually take her out in the youth season and she would get a crack at a buck. This year she was determined to take a nice 4 point buck and one that was bigger than her moms four point! Very competitve to say the least. LOL. She knew that I liked to hunt the november season as I usually take 3 weeks off work to hunt deer during the rut. Kennedy asked if she could come along with me in november to look for a big mulie buck and I said for sure. So we went to look at a spot that usually held a lot of does and during the rut that means the bucks are near. As we started driving along some alfalfa fields Kennedy told me that there was a deer looking at us. I said no that's a coyote. She said no, there is a nice buck look at us dad? I was looking in the wrong direction and was watching a coyote and on her side was a nice buck watching the coyote! I told her to get out and get a rest on the fence post. The buck was on the move then at about 200 yards and she let fly with her old 30-30 Marlin shooting Hornady Lever evolution 160 grain bullets. The buck dropped instantly and we were high fiving after that shot. She was pretty excited walking out to her buck. I asked her where she was aiming and she said for the shoulder. I looked and the deer was hit right in the head! Lol. We took some photos and got the deer loaded. She was pretty pumped that her buck was bigger than her moms. It was a great day out hunting with my daughter. Ramshot

What a very nice buck. Not to many 14 yr old girls can say they shot a nice buck like that.
You have to enjoy these times with your daughter as she is at the age where she is going to get boy crazy.

Congrats to your daughter! I can only hope that either of my daughters is keen on hunting any time between 10 and 14! It sounds like your wife hunts, which I can see would help your cause.

Unfortunately, around my house the only messaging my girls hear from their mom is that it happens at the cost of everything else. I feel like I'll have my work cut out for me, but I'll always keep trying.

Here is the skull from Kennedy's buck after bleaching. Bullet entered below base of horn. My neighbour is reconstructing it for a euro mount
for her xmas present. He's a good taxidermist and I'm sure it will look great. She was really disappointed that her shot ruined the skull for a
euro-mount. Can't wait to see her face christmas morning.

Shoulder, head, who really cares, it stopped him, Dead! Great buck Kennedy! And listen carefully to that olde guy in the drivers seat, your Dad knows more about hunting than most hunters I know! And a heck of a good idea for a Christmas present DB!!! Post a pic when you get it back!
