Spatsizi Caribou???

I threw in a Spatsizi Caribou aplication in case our moose didn't come through and we ended back up in the Dease area in the open season - and what do you know - no moose and a caribou tag for Spatsizi!!!

Anyone got any pointers about the area??? Never hunted caribou before.

we have hunted them out of coldfish lake , is that where your going?

Basically, I have no idea where to go. Did you fly into Coldfish Lake or ???

Fly into Coldfish and hunt the plateau north of the lake. South side is pretty much all closed due to the Ecological Reserve.

we flew into coldfish and backpacked a long ways back but you can get them right above the lake .Its a mile long trail straight up to the plateau , i saw 5 wolverines up there in 10 days , cabins are nice to sleep in also.

i would say there are better places to hunt caribou in that direction without a costly plane flight into coldfish lake and a GOS??? sure the draw lets you shoot any bull but you probably don't want to shoot a bull smaller than 5 points.

I'd stick with Coldfish. There's a good horse trail that leads from the east end of the lake up onto the plateau

i wasn't trying to say coldfish was a bad spot, just that it is very costly ($1500) to get flown into there for one caribou draw. how many draws do you have?
