November 11th Goose Hunt

Well, its been a good year so far with some good hunts for ducks and geese. I got my dad and brother up my way yesterday for their first crack at birds this year, and we did pretty good. Little brother Anthony managed 3 birds with my grandpa's old double barrel 12 gauge. Definitely should have had more but there was some less then stellar shooting at times :oops:. Since we had good cover, I brought my dog Cali out for here first time this year and she did very well. Managed 2 far retrieves quite nicely. I should have some guidance shortly on retriever training her properly. We also saw a good flock of snow geese and I was using my speck call to sound like snows.. and they came juuuust out of range but we never got a shot off. Still managed 11 honkers by 11am, where we called it day in our moment of silence and watched the old planes fly over.. taking great appreciation for the place we live in.

I was thinking you should be taking the old man as a retriever , as I remember he was pretty good that day we took him grouse hunting
