RCMP and search and rescue teams are looking for a 55-year-old man and his 10-year-old stepson after they failed to return from a hunting trip Saturday.Glen Brooker took his stepson and their chocolate lab on a hunting trip to a region northeast of Quesnel the morning of October 29, with plans to return that night.
The pair were headed northeast of Quesnel to the Narrow Lake / Stony Lake region. Police say they also had a boat with them and may have gone out on the water.
"They're looking at waterways and roadways out there," said RCMP Sgt. Chris Riddle.
Riddle said the search is being hindered by weather, with fog and clouds preventing an air search from getting underway.
The boat is a green Kingfisher and the vehicle Brooker was driving is a 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 pickup.

Any word on this?

I have the afternoon off, if they are still missing I'll go snoop around out that way.

Such fantastic news! Seriously so happy to hear this. My heart really sunk when I heard about the boat. Rescued 3 people out of an icey lake once with my kayak but they almost didn't make it.. You never know when mistakes can happen or disaster strikes.

I've never been in a chopper. Now I know how. If you guys hear of me missing, it's not an accident, and I'll save some battery life and a beer for the flight and some selfies.

Yes the importance of a sat. phone &/or a SPOT can't be overstated.

In Oct. 2002 was hunting in the remote mountain area north of Empire with Eve & the tranny went. We were lucky. Jim Hamilton, a pilot & rodeo champ from Williams Lake came to our rescue just in time. He was driving a Dodge Ram pickup with the bullet holes painted on the driver's side door:smile:. Our vehicle was stranded in the middle of a very steep, slippery & narrow road.
The year after got a new truck & a sat. phone. A few years after got a SPOT.

Glad the guys are safe & sound.
