Where are you?

Are you purposefully removing the sinus bones?

I prefer to see them left intact. Takes more care, but is worth it.
I would be very disappointed to get a skull back and find them broken out.

If you use beetles, you can leave the sinus bones intact. If you pressure wash, odds aren't in your favour.

I take them out because I think it looks cleaner and you can make 100% sure there is no meat in any small space inside the skull. I am located in yarrow (chilliwack)

Just for potential customer feedback.

I think it looks much better with the nasal bones left in.
Seeing these bones broken and removed makes me think less of the taxidermist's skill and temperament.

Thousands of people have no problem in thoroughly cleaning skulls while preserving the delicate internal structure.
It just takes a bit more patience and care, or possibly a change of technique.
You can do it too if you want to.

x2. In my experience you'll get a lot better response with a properly cleaned skull with nasal bones in-tact.

My experience in euro mount and been doing them for friends for sometime now that there is more request with the looks with the nasal canal. If you don't boil the skull too much better chance of it not falling apart. Bettles are best

Nice job as we have a lot of European mounts in our house with the nasal bones attached. I like the looks of yours better. Just my personal choice of course.

when you finish up with the mount how do you go about attaching it to a plaque or wall?

I just put a long screw or bolt into a stud on a upward angle and hang them by the hole in the back of the skull, I have a wood shop so i have made plaques before.

Simple.. I was way over thinking that.

Your mounts look great. If mine turns out half that good I'll be happy.

How are you cleaning these skulls? Boiling?

I'm not picking on you, Actually pointing out concerns so that you may become better at this craft.

I see several skulls where the nasal and premaxilla bones have separated.
This separation will get worse over time as the bones warp without the support of the connective tissue that has been removed.
