Hello new here.Well after a few years of only antlerless deer I finially got a reg 4 Moose draw!!! But more impressive than that is my daughter in her first year applying got 4 draws!! Both she and my dad got age restrited Elk in 4-23 As well as Moose,antlerless white tail and Mule deer.She should have a good crack at getting her first big game animal.

Same old story - my wife got a whitetail doe, and I got a nil... I have never ever gotten anything in the draw, and my wife gets something virtually every year. The streak continues.


I suppose that there is a faint hope that the data entry process is still going on and they're just haven't told the computer about my moose draw - but as my wife didn't get a whitetail (and she did get an elk) last year - this is definitely not last year's data. :(

Oh well..... it's not like it's all that much trouble to fill the freezers (plural) in the Kootenays, even without an LEH. :)

I talked to a guy last year who put in for a 0.5:1 doe draw and didn't get it, this year the same draw was still 0.5:1, this system is fu%ked. Definitely time for a review of the LEH system.

Everytime I hear of others I hunt with getting something, it pisses me off more and more. One old timer got a draw two years ago and damit he gets another one.

The 2007 Limited Entry Draw Has Been Run!
The draw was run at 1:30 am June 29 and the results are now available on this site.
Draw results are being mailed and should be received in early July. If you do not receive notification of your results, please call the Fish and Wildlife Branch and we will look into it for you. Please read your results carefully – every year a few hunters throw away Limited Entry authorizations because they mistakenly thought they were not drawn.

I actually switched it up this year and put in for a different unit. This is only the 7th goat tag I've had in 13 years. I haven't killed one yet though. I hope this is the year. Gonna put some time in and try to get er done. Gotta beat the big brother's ya know.:mrgreen::mrgreen:

Althought I "Nilled" out on the LEH, it would appear that the new regulations for 2007 may work in my favour (actually my 2 sons under 19 ). It has been posted here that there is going to be a late youth Mule Deer buck season in some Region 8 areas, which should be very nice (I have a feeling there is going to be a lot of irate bow hunters). As well there is apparently a youth season for Elk in some areas of region 4, hopefully it is for 3 points or better?

for those who were lucky enuff to draw a moose in region 5..the #s are way up should be a good year except for grouse....too wet a spring..deer are EVERYWHERE..flat tops should be a good time..the only exception are NOV. MOOSE..AND THOSE BUGGERS HIT THE DEEPEST DARKEST THICKEST thickets and its very very hard to get close..

I spent alot of years with the NIL tag, before finally getting some luck. Personally I think alot of it depends on which hunts you apply for. I have never had any luck with high odds hunts, so now I look for low odds, I still apply every year for rosies and sheep and for the last 20 years have got NIL.

Im not actually sure, dont have the LEH regs in front of me, but I know its the land north of pavillion and down to the river. We have both been trying for years for that draw as we quite often see sheep when were hunting mulies in there. Very little access but we gotter figured! :wink: We cant wait for this one!

Should get mulie buck and speed goats in Alberta this year too- may have to quit working all together!:p

There are way better "quality" hunts than the ones I got - they're all between 1:1 and 3:1. Tough access, low to no success and tough country.

Much better GOS for moose than where I'll be going - it was a tag to burn along with a guaranteed grizz tag.

$ for HCTF and helps relative importance in an area that needs it.

Update!!! Just talked to my dad and he got a Moose draw for PG to go along with my Bison and Goat draws. One funny thing is he also got a Goat draw for 4-23B, but never put in for one. He says he applied for an elk draw there. What makes it even funnier is that he's 72 years old this year, so unless it's close to the road I don't see him taking it. LOL!!

Go into Wilson lake for Moose, south east of Atlin, it was thick with moose when I was there in 2001. Really easy access. Where abouts is your Caribou draw? I was above Surprise lake on the same trip and there was good access through there as well right into a nice alpine drainage. If I remember that is all within 6-25
