How much you want to spend???? Leupold is IMO, the best for the $ spent

it all depends how much $ i can make before hunting season hopefully up to about $1500. i was looking at a buris and a leupold the otherday but i dont really know yet.

you will be hard pressed to buy a better hunting scope than a Leupold VX-II 3-9x40mm, for around $450

a VX-III 3.5-10x40 would be another good choice for a couple hundred more $

Bushnell 4200's work pretty well for me in 2.5-10x. If you can't see enough of a big game animal well enough to smack him in the vitals with the scope all the way up at 10x, you're too far away to be shooting at him. :)

(and I am very surprised to have to confess - the RainGuard lens coating is magic in wet/fog/cold conditions).

That's exactly what I just put on my A-bolt Stalker in .06 great unit.

I have a Leupold 2x7. It has done me well for 28 years..buttttttt I looked through a Burris 3x9 at 7 power and the clarity to my 7 power was so much better than mine that I sent the scope back to Leupold and they sent it back to me and said there was nothing wrong. The extra objective of 40 mil over 28 is the difference. Can't go wrong with the Leupold 3x9 or Burris 3x9.
