Hello, I'm heading up to 100 mile house on the 19th for two weeks with the wife and kids to visit the in-laws for a late thanksgiving. I'm hopeing to get in some deer hunting in the local region and possibly moose hunting in region 3-39 or 3-31 for a spike/fork.
Ever time I've been up there I've seen lots of deer, I'm never there during hunting season, but never see any moose. But I figured I'm finally there during hunting season so why not go look for some...
I was wondering what the back road conditions in these areas look like this time of year? I also have a white tail tag although I've never seen one I've just seen Mulies when I've been up there. Can anyone point me in the right direction to see any white tails?
Any info would be helpful and appreciated.

I don't think there's any moose or deer left there either.

Everything seems to be moving at night right now. Only bucks I have seen in the past 3 weeks are in the 108.

I drove thru yesterday morning and again this afternoon. Pretty warm all right. I'm sure the gravel roads will be a little greasy with any amount of rain.

I just came out of 3 30 area yesterday, there was snow but it melted. Make sure you got your mud terrains on and good chains! Oh and the deer are gone for the year now.

Thanks for the Intel. I Went out this morning.... Didn't see any deer, bumped into a guy and his son who had a doe tag and they hadn't seen anything either. I did get a grouse with a slingshot though
Where I was today there seemed to only be cattle tracks everywhere

Moose hunting in around 100 mile should be stopped for a few yrs...
They need protection to rebuild.

I totally agree! It's like hunting for unicorns. The last 7 years or so hunting in and around that area I've seen two bulls.

So after 3 days out hunting I've seen lots of older tracks and scat, a few grouse and two whitetail does (in m.u. 3-31) that I couldn't get a shot on as the bush was too thick and they spooked. I've seen no sign of moose at all....
i am going to try a new area tomorrow. I hope to find a bit more fresh deer sign out there...

even 3 years ago I used to see the odd moose on my usual hiking trail. Now I mostly just run into wolf tracks and havent seen a moose there in years

Where are you camped? I was up this past weekend riding, there is a lot of sign all over the area surrounding Earle lake, just north of horse lake. Time and time again when I ride the entire 100mile area from 99mile, to longbow, Sheridan, bridge, Egan, wavey, English lakes, windy mountain ect... It's almost desolate Earl lake is always fresh prints on top of fresh prints. It's the only area I've seen in the region that looks worthwhile.

I got a 6 pt white tail on the big creek side of hanceville last week. I didn't think there was much for whitetails around either. It's not 100 mile but not that far away.
