If anyone missed it I posted the story of my BC mountain goat hunt in the OOP section of the forum...
http://www.huntingbc.ca/forum/showthread.php?120622-This-Really-Gets-My-Goat

Well today I brought him home as well as my better half's bear.

Ive posted more pics over in that thread...but I have s question for you fellas. I have to rearrange a little, but these new guys are going up on the ledge.

So Whaddya think is the best way to get them up there. I think the bear weighs around 50 lbs and the goat 70. I'm thinking a drywall lift with a couple friends on ladders stabilizing it on the way up. Anybody have a better idea?

Did the taxidermist make it where the animals you lift them out of the formations.
We have a life size goat in our house to and we have oil heat in the house and now the goat is really not like the white in your picture so think about the long run of your goat you may want to put it in a area where it will not get to dusty and hot and may crack from being up higher in the house.
All is I have to say is before you start getting crazy move all your wifes precious pictures and knick knacks and don't break anything first. Before you start to get your goat and bear up on the ledge.

One of those jacks that plumbers use to lift AC/heat units up to the ceiling to install would work. (You might have meant that by drywall lift). Hope that helps.

very cool mounts

You from the Hat and yet I see no Speed Goat ....... What the ........? Nice critters, gotta love the man-woman cave.

Just have a few few buddies over and heave Ho ! Can't be that tough.

Good in luck though, only attempt after several beer each.

Well when Robin puts food on the table, I'm usually not too fussy. Couldn't decide if I was gonna have bear or goat for breakfast...

So I rounded up a posse and rented a drywall lift. With men, ladders and whiskey in the mix we had a scare or two and my heart stopped momentarily when my ram nearly cartwheeled off the ledge. When the dust settled though, all was good.

Nicely done! Who did the taxi on the goat?

Nature girl, Robin is up there at least once a month with a swiffer keeping things looking good. The goat is actually a little too gleaming white. I'm sure Robin will do her best to keep him that way but he's way cleaner now than when I killed him. I joked that I need some of that black gravel from the mountain to dust him, lol. Robin was not amused.

Curly, I actually have two antelope. I have them Euro mounted. Some will disagree but I think they're too ugly to be mounted in the house. I feel the same with moose but if Robin kills the bull she's been chasing the last couple weeks, I may lose that discussion. Also missing is a cougar and an elk. They should be coming soon though.

Rob Dalla Longa of Wild Images Taxidermy here in Medicine Hat. He's been doing this for 30ish years. He learned from...and still gets tips and advice from a guy most of you know...Harley White from Kelowna. Rob did these two as well as my bighorn.

Your arrangement of the animals looks nice but always room for more.
