Questions about region 5

My wife and I are looking at a new area to try hunting in next fall, and were thinking region 5-13ish.. We were gonna put in for a moose draw there but even if we dont get it head out for deer!

If there is anyone that knows the area please shoot me a PM, Im not looking for honey holes or anything, just general info on the area.

The deer are closer to the river and numbers have dropped the last few years. Moose numbers have dropped but not as bad as what people are saying, you just need to know where to go. They seem to be in pockets. Stay away from main fsr like the blackwater, 3400rd and so on. Gain elevation and you will find moose. The farther west you go the less deer you will see and the deer that are there go nocturnal. Lots of black bears throughout the area and some grizzlies are moving in closer to town now, we have seen 4 this summer up the 2000rd not far from Tibbles lake

Thanks guys.. Ill talk to Steve when I get the chance.. Think I still have his number around here somewhere.. We were looking at staying at fishpot lake cabins.. Gotta keep the wifey happy too... If there are black bears in the area we are good with that as well if we dont get a draw for moose up there..
