Don't mean to be the bearer of bad news, but I can see this being put into effect. Maybe if not a complete closure a limitation on size?

Its a tough one for me. I am a fisherman and when I see a jet boat come up the Vedder River it gets me riled up, but there is nothing to say I am right. As a hunter I am bringing my 14ft jet skiff out moose hunting for my bull draw. Its an amazing tool out there. What can I say, I love them and hate them!

There is no doubt that recreational motorized vehicles of any kind, when used carelessly, are destroying habitat. This is something that the hunting community needs to realize, and with more of us out there, the regulations are going to change to protect what we have. Let's be honest, there are not many areas, especially in the southern half of the province, that we cannot access. This has been to the detriment of wildlife. We need to embrace these changes for future generations, habitat, wildlife, and conservation.

I have no problem with vehicle closures of any kind of the are based on factual scientific resource management data and if they apply to everyone.

Are they doing this though, or do you think it's going to end up in a knee jerk reaction and decision down the road? What say you guys, is there any marginal possibility we start working together to promote that type of behavior in our government?!?

Change for the hell of it, or peer pressure or group of interests doesn't really benefit wildlife or fish.

If boats are hurting the salmon populations then the boats have to go!

I understand the theory behind the concern, but where are the pictures of these eggs blown out of their nests? Where is the other side of the story from the boaters? Where is the science? The whole story is from one group with an axe to grind, maybe they should spend some time and get all the facts.
My elders told me that the boating actually mixes the eggs and sperm better to get more salmon! Prove that it doesn't!

Boaters science?
Are you kidding?

Your elders are telling you that boats are mixing the eggs and sperm better.
You need to sleep it off. Take some yogurt.
It'll be better in the morning.

you know what,, anyone out there whom enjoys fishing and going up rivers in jet boats for the purpose of fishing knows that there may be some reason for concern as they are coming into beaches which consist of the gravel required for salmon to spawn and perhaps sucking in gravel or blowing water through the redds which salmon have already spent their last few breaths creating to pro-create, but for the most part these people know what they are doing and ease up as they are pulling into fishing areas and also will do the deepest part of the river when running the boat, however, not all jet boaters are fishermen or hunters.!
I have had the pleasure of being in jet boats to go fishing and as environmentalists as well as outdoors people we have always known when to stop the engine and coast to shore or anchor to fish. I am sure there are lots of us out there that also know this. but...... i have also witnessed high priced boats that throw monster rooster tails running rivers in the shallowest parts to show their friends how the boat only needs 6" of water to run. and rippin through spawning grounds without a care in the world.
so anyone out there who thinks that it isnt true, isnt thinking of the other jet boaters that run rivers for the fun of it. Cause we all know that we, outdoor enthusiasts, would never do that.
but the other jet boaters? well,,hmm they may just do that in ignorance, there are lots of people that dont know,,, ya know.

Everyone should be able to agree with that.

Is this another closure, like many of the ATV ones, that benefit the local guide?......

Not sure? But if it is, or if it's a knee jerk reaction to silence "appease" some environmental group then it's BS.
