That is huge. He's probably grain fed from the fields. Will be tender if he is.

Very impressive then for a free range fair chase critter. Interested to hear the story once it hits the magazines.

Knowing how prairie hunting works, it most likely is, "drove around, seen a big elk, got out of truck, and shot it." :)

It's sad that I don't believe it was Fair Chase.

There is a bunch of pics on facebook. The lady who shot it said it was a limited entry hunt?

I'm not up on Elk scores. Is this a record for non typ or just really big? What is the non typ Canadian record?

Possibly top 5 non-typical ever recorded. Top ten for sure.

My being or not being a jealous hater doesn't change the fact that within an hour or two's drive in multiple directions from where this bull was taken are High-Fence operations advertising Elk up to 600 B&C.
These places are advertising Desert and Dall Sheep "Hunts".
In this case I think caution is warranted. Here is an article about an Elk farm in the very area this bull came from http://www.newsoptimist.ca/news/northwest-region/sad-tale-of-the-sask-elk-industry-1.1576319

Im with you Matt..let naysayers do their negativitism..
Being an Albertan I have seen some of the Crankers coming out of that area, which by the way is right on the sask border ..
From Wainwright/Edgerton area north and east has incredible genetics..

Seems the rest of the world (including Boone & Crockett) believe this bull was taken via Fair Chase.
Scored by a B&C fellow at 463" from what I've been informed, and now awaiting B&C Panel Scoring.
And you're right Springer - seen a few pictures of some Monsters from that area over the past couple of years...
