Well, we just got back from Rennel Sound in Hadia Gwaii after an amazing family hunting and fishing adventure. Camping on the beach, fishing and hunting every day, exploring the shoreline and eating fresh fish and backstraps. What a cool place!

You can check out the fishing video here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SfYB61SMA5A

(the hunting video will come next week)

The roads were good, the main campsite by the boat launch was stuffed full and the other sites were occupied most of the time as well. We stayed out by Bonanza beach where the northwest wind kept our little 14' Lund off the water in the afternoons. Still we managed to catch a little of everything including the prized tin boat halibut.

Others that stayed by the boat launch and fished in the more protected waters fished longer and eventually caught their limits of bottom fish.

Awesome video. It's nice to see families enjoying this kind of experience. It's brings you back to reality of what's it's truly about just having a good time. Again great video and nice to see your family getting involved in the whole experience.

Awesome! Thanks for sharing!

Camped at that same spot many years ago. For safety's sake, I would encourage your children not to lift the fish out of the water with the rod. (If the fish shakes the hook, the hook can go flying!)

I look forward to your next video.

So, I just watched it again, and enjoyed it as much as the first time. Loved all the kids playing the in the kelp band. That was pretty funny. I do have one question though. What does your husband say after he sinks his lure into the ocean? :-o

excellent vid and like others have said takes me back and peaks my memories. In the 70's I used to go to the sunshine coast to the end of the road at Lund and spend a month every summer. We fished Okeover inlet and lived in a hippy shack right on the ocean front, picked mushrooms and salal, and fished the ocean every day and
set crab traps
We'd go 2-3 days without seeing another soul,it was a simpler time and one Ive never forgotten and the scenery was much like the QCI's

We actually stayed at the Conhead Rec Site, which is close to Bonanza Beach. We had a beach site, and had to carry the boat a short way down to the water. The campsite, private beach, and view was worth it!
