With the season already under way, whose flying in this year? Our group is flying out of Telegraph Creek for caribou, grizzly, and goat. Best of luck to all and can't wait to hear the stories!

Flying out of Dease Lake, Sept.05. Did first fly in out of Dease Lake 30 years ago. BC YUKON had both a Beaver and an Otter in those days. Not much change in Dease Lake but the road to Dease Lake is much better than it was then.

There are many advantages to a Fly In hunt situation.
Alternatively, there are also disadvantages.
Chief amongst the latter - When you fly into an area, you are somewhat limited in scope (regardless of your crew's physical condition and/or equipment capabilities). If the animals you are seeking are not present within that scope at the time you are there, you are simply out of luck...

Despite many many long range excursions packing and employing the very best of long range optics, our crew basically drew a blank. One small caribou for five extremely seasoned & experienced hunters. Area was beautiful, and that lessened the blow somewhat. Long story short & in the words of one of our Ladz upon a day early extraction: Nice House - Nobody Home...

Reports from the Dease Lake area are currently somewhat grim this fall.
Wasn't just us, but that doesn't make it any less bitter a pill to swallow...

And that's the way it was...

Not so cheerful,
Nog
