It is if there were 2 guys in your group.

My group of 4 received a bull draw in 7-16c and it says one bull only.

I didn't apply for a group hunt this year. Does it say on the paper the names/hunter numbers of each member of the group? Might it be some growing pains of the new system or confusing process applying that muddled things up?

It's because when they drew your name there was only one auth left so your group of 4 can only take one bull.

All four group members were listed with hunter numbers. Rhyno could be correct if there was only one authorization left...

If it's a group hunt shouldn't all four members get a tag, shared hunts are one bull for two hunters and two bulls for 3 or 4 hunters put in.

everyone needs to get a tag to hunt moose, only 2 moose can be harvested in a group of 3 or 4 and only one for a group of 2

Excellent question. A "group of three or four hunters" applying for a moose or bison hunt is considered a "shared" hunt. They are allotted 2 opportunities if drawn.

If it were any of the other species in the leh system, a group of two, three, or four hunters would get two, three, or four opportunities of course depending on the number of hunters.

So in a nutshell, no group hunts for bison or moose. They are called shared hunts and a max of two chances are allotted per win.

This isn't the first group of 4 that says only 1 moose. The OP is the third group I have heard of that only got 1 bull.

I'd call the leh office and double check.

Well that made me open the letter I got last week. Group of 3 put in for shared moose hunt but authorization for only one bull. Then I noticed that only two of us are listed as group members. Gotta figure out if the third guy actually put in or not. Don't know if it's the system or the guy yet.

This is taken directly from the LEH regs:

Groups of two will be allowed totake one Moose or Bison only, and a groupof three or four will be allowed to take twoMoose or Bison only. However, if only oneauthorization remains, and a group memberfrom a group of three or four is selected, thegroup will be allowed to take one Mooseor Bison only.

If only one authorization remains and a member of your group is selected, the group will be allowed to take one moose only.

Anyone know the number for the LEH office to be able to check this out?

Would there be any proof that someone didn't get their paperwork in properly? I guess their name wouldn't be on the authorization. A buddy of mine said that he gave his info to his hunting partner so that it was less complicated. One guy entering everyone's info for the shared moose hunt.

Four guys and one moose...Hopefully the deer are around too.
