I am curious what is your preference guys when trying to make a blind in a very promising area. Would you rather build a natural blind or bring a pop up blind that can always be brought down and taken away/back?

I'd go with a pop up. Just me i guess. Easy peasy...

If u r referring to a big game location I prefer a pop up for a number of reasons.

Firstly is scent management/control
U r also out of the elements.
A small heater can be used and bring the temp up inside.... which is huge if ur sitting in -25.

Either way, u need to set up or build ur blind well in advance of hunting it so game get's conditioned to it.

I prefer very natural minimal blinds. Basically stump sitting with foliage to break up my silhouette and the ground cleared of debris that would make noise if I have to readjust my position to get a shot. I like the flexibility of it if I want to move to a new location. But getting out of the elements would be nice though, most sits in the later season become an endurance test.

Pop up blinds are great. Only drawback is the damn noisy zipper that you have to open and close before first light lol.

Good point bassplayer.
One of my pop ups zipper system is brutally loud......especially when its below freezing.

Still will pick a pop up for late season sitting 10 out of 10 times

It would be nice if they made them with a spring loaded door sort of like a long, vertical slit that pulls apart to let you in and closes behind you. I usually leave my blind door and windows open when not in use. Too many people have had bears shred theirs to pieces out of curiosity as to what's inside. Had bobcat tracks inside mine one day.

What do you plan to hunt out of the blind? Also, how far would you have to carry it? Also, public or private land?

Good questions. First, I started this discussion with mule deer hunting in mind, but have no issue learn from it and use hunting other game. That particular spot I have in mind so far is on public land, no more than 500 yards from the road, so not that far to carry.

My preference as well, if wind and weather permits. If the elements can't be overcome, I would go to a pop-up (which I haven't had to yet, but it's in my vehicle)

I set these up on private property for whitetail and just leave them there all year. I made them myself out of old calf hutches.

This is amazing setup and I would not hesitate even for a second to do something similar if I was on a private land, but being in fairly popular and accessible area, close to the main road that would not last long IMO.

Any other of you guys willing to post pics of your own blind set ups? Please and thank you?

..Basically stump sitting with foliage to break up my silhouette...
the only problem I found is carrying the stump around got to be too tiring, especially if hills were involved. :)

I would like to show few pics of them lil' buggers that made me start this thread. Cut block is less than 10 yards away and I am still debating whether to stake the block or try so sneak up closer with my x-bow.
