View Full Version : Looking for some Entry Level Binoculars

Hi everyone,
Since I know everyone here has had experience with Binoculars, I was wondering if you could recommend me some Entry Level hunting binos.
My price range is capped at $500 and the lower the price, the better. I just cant justify paying $2,000+ for some Swaro's. (wish I could)
Obviously looking for something waterproof, reasonably light, and durable. My hunting is with a rifle in thick brush and small clearings, with the occasional large expanse. I'd like something to be able to at least show me the points from 300-400 yards, so I can put a worthwhile stalk on.

Thanks in advance!

Bushnell 8x40s with independent focus. Best bang for your buck.

Leupold makes a decent pair for that price range

You can check out the used market for some Zeiss classics ... They will last you a lifetime 10x40.... 8x30 both good sizes... Transferable warranty also if needed.

I'd look for a used pair of Vortex Viper HD, or a new pair of Vortex Diamondback gen2

Haha, i was trying not to advertise for them, i had another post in another thread deleted because I'd mentioned a price on something in there. But yes I do mean them.

Ooh some vortex Diamondbacks 10x42. To match my scope I just bought lol. Might be sold on that. Grouse river too
Currently a toss up between bushnell legend HD 10x42 or Vortex Diamondback 10x50
As far as hike hunting goes. I guess it's personal preference

So I ended up getting the new 2016 Vortex Diamondback 10x42 for a steal of a price at $266.
Just awaiting shipping now. Can't wait till I get them or even hunting season to use them

I'm a huge fan of vortex, got a Viper HS 2.5x10-44 on my rifle and I love it. .But if you want a really high quality set of Binoculars for a great price then check out scorpion optics. I have a pair and they are great! I've compared them with other mid priced Binoculars like vortex Dimond back Bushnell Leopold and IMO there are a better product for the money. over the counter warranty. That means you brake them hand them back to the dealer and they give you a new pair. Check them out I think you might be impressed. I am.
