Mind me, I'm an elk rookie, what's the scoop on this poop: elk or moose??

^^^^me too, I was thinkin elk turds, as moose turds are more oval...I just have my doubts, as there ain't many elk in that particular area..

Moose can have poop that looks just like that also. More common in elk but this time of year with fresh vegetation moose poop will be a little more squished.

My friend what you have there is Elk poop. The pictures aren't great but he was at least a 5 pointer, 3 years of age, crapped in a east west direction....up hill. I might add it was very lucky you did not step in that!

Region 8, west side of Okanagan lake though, supposed to be a few elk on this side of the lake, but I've never seen one..

Moose poop can look kind of cow-patty like if they are into aquatic forage, but that aint it. Hell of a trophy though!

Its elk scats all the way moose scats are almost round..

Region 8, west side of Okanagan lake though, supposed to be a few elk on this side of the lake, but I've never seen one.. I have seen pictures of moose in the Oliver school yard, And other parts of Oliver. Lots of elk to the east. Starting to see whitetail west of town. No elk though. I hope they keep spreading around more.

Saw a large bull elk west side of lake up behind glenrosa last week. First time seeing elk up there..

Agreed. I've seen fresh moose poop just like that, even in November. In that case I'm 100% sure it was moose, 'cause he pooped a little when I shot him. :)

There is the odd elk west of the lake too, so could be either.
