I tried to use the Search function to bring up references to a particular management unit that I intend to hunt this year and it just comes up with "no matches". (ie. I typed "7-24") Tried adding to that and still got "no matches" in several instances, and then when my search became a little broader, a zillion threads came up, most not really providing the specific information that I was looking for. There are repeated requests on this forum for info on one management unit or another, so it would seem that the ability to type in a management unit and get info would be very beneficial. Not sure if it is technically possible to do so, but, I, for one, would be very appreciative if those individuals that run or maintain this site could make this happen.

Apparently you didn't try it yourself before offering the advice. Great if you want a copy of the regs, a list of assets for the entire region 7 or a 1984 Hydro study about Williston Lake.

Try adding "huntingbc" to your search of 7-24. Then under the first item, you should see something like "more results from huntingbc.ca" - it brings you to a list of 10 threads that deal with 7-24.

You're right, the search function on forums is not great, but as I understand it's part of a software package, not something that you can mess around with so easily. Google is simply a stronger tool, though the old hidden Google link is always good for a snicker

Type "7-24 site:huntingbc.ca" into Google. It will then only show you results from this site. Quackhead was trying to show you this but the link didn't seem to work. I find this is the best way to search almost any website.

Ha! Yep -- here's the search term: "7-24" site:huntingbc.ca/forum

Not sure why the search parameters were removed from the link. Here's what I posted:

What about making a new section specifically for threads requesting advice for specific management units, not just general hunting tips although that might be another interesting thread section? Like under the Hunting BC and/or Hunting Coast/Island you could have another forum section like "MU Specific Tips/Advice" and then another section for "General Hunting Tips/Tricks/Advice"?
