Your on the right track. The bears will be up high eating berries. You will probably need to backpack to get high enough up that trail. Its a bit of a jaunt to reach alpine. I had the draw about 6 years back and figured I could catch a bear by the rivers but never saw one down low.

We drew on for 7-18 as well , and Two Bull tags , never been in the Mcgregor / Torpey so looking forward to checking out a new area. Whats the best way in ? on the Bowron road just east of PG ? or on the road that goes east to the bridge just north of PG ?

Only 2 access roads are the upper fraser road east of PG and the walker crk road north of McBride about 80ish km. I don't think there is much for logging in there. Both roads are pothole rough because they haven't been plowed recently for logging. The upper fraser road which turns into the pass lake road after you cross the fraser goes considerably further back, for vehicle access anyways.

I wore out the front end of my F150 the fall I had the grizz draw in there. Did 8 weekends in there. The truck already had some km on it and those trips finished it off.

What about the Bowron Road , it goes off Hwy 16 , north to the bridge over the Fraser ? or is that considered the Upper Fraser road ? I let my Quad take the beating , the F-350 stays in Camp

Yes you can go in that way. It meets right up with upper fraser at the bridge across the fraser. I have never driven that road but if you are coming from McBride it should be quicker. If coming from PG use the upper fraser road.
