I passed up this blackie!

Ok guys,

Being new to hunting I looked and looked at this guy while he sauntered in front of me and ended up filming him instead of shooting him because

A. I though he might be a grizz. (but now think he was a blackie)
B. He had big ears and lots of daylight under him

He seemed to be alone so I don't think he was a cub.

What is your opinon? Would you have shot him?

good video, neat, I was out working toward sooke on monday, in the AshMountian Est, and had two nice blackie's run across in front of us, was trying for a pic, but the bear would not pose for me,, got some but shots while the bear would not stand around for me, they were real close to where a house was being built,,cool

Loved the video ... and that was a nice blonde/brown colour phase blackie ... but a young one ... leave him to grow a year or two. There's bigger ones in there.

o2fish2day, Nice video, good job. Hard for me to tell on the video but it did look small as you said because the room under belly. The colour threw me off but the big ears said black bear to me. I would have also held off.

Yup, just a young'un in your lens. There's lots of big old boars around that are past their prime, one will show up. When you see one, you'll know!
