Where have you been? They were out on May 15. Highest count on bedroom 14"X16" window screen is approximately 190.

I came across them pesky winged syringes in mid February while out collecting firewood (too soon), just one of those perks for living in the banana belt of BC.

What's the preferred caliber for mosquito? I'm thinking 410...

Just don't forget to buy your tag. We have a limit of 10 each!

I must've ate dozens of them hunting last long weekend. Probably the reason why I didn't feel so hungry lol!

There isn't a single mosquito in your area.

They are all married with large families!

Hey, we were having a conversation about the friendly underprivileged mosquitos here, what makes you think you can compare them to the evil likes of black flies? Those things can drive a sane man bat-$h1t crazy .

Yep, nothing like hooking chokers and breathing in black flys as you huff and buff, thank goodness for bar oil on the brim of the hard hat.
That's about the only aspect I don't miss about being in the bush.

mozzies can bite me and leave and I don't even notice or itch...blackflies bite me and leave a gapping wound that continues to bleed but still no itch...noseeums will leave a welt the size of a marble on me wherever they bite and I will itch for a day or 2

Wait until you get bitten by a deer fly. Its like a back hoe bucket took a big chunk of your flesh.

I'm waiting for jasmine to post a link or 2 on the key benefits that mosquitoes have on the fragile eco-system and why we shouldn't kill them

spotty eyed deer flys are slow and easy to swat...you mostly only get them at the beaches...same for the stripe eyed horse flys...this is a bit sick but...we used to catch them and tie a hair around their neck like a pet...if there were lots we would each catch one and take a single sheet of toilet paper, spin the paper to a fine hard point and jam it up the horse fly butt..the moisture would swell the paper and it would be stuckin the butt...then we would release them as a race (who's went higher or further depending on terrain)

There is a puddle by my truck full of them. I just poured some salt in it. Then a few drops of dish soap for good measure. I hope they like it.

Those shifty sunzas always get me in the bag. Stay off the nude beaches. And spray Deep Woods off on your bag.

It's all good. Mozzys don't bug me much unless they are REALLY bad, but clouds of black flies in October just before the frost is cold enough to finish them is a different story. Breathing them in while others are buzzing inside your ears and chomping you like Mike Tyson drives me bonkers. Thankfully they are virtually non-existent around here compared to where I grew up in the 'boo.

I hear Varsol works better. I'll give it a whirl and get back.

I noticed they're not quite out in bad numbers yet at the higher elevation lakes (1500m+), gonna take the family campin next week, does anybody think they'll be bad at those higher elevations by next week?
