Was browning around on a website for an American version of a retailer that we also have in Canada and they have Alpen 788s on for $300 USD ($325 with tax to Blaine...guess it's taxable because it's probably from Kirkland, WA). Same spotter would be $540 CAD + tax from Amazon...so about $100 savings.
I know everyone says "buy the best!" but I may not have $4000 for Swaros in the budget right now. The reviews I've found online suggest that the Alpen is high quality for the price point (usually $400-$500 USD); however, I don't have much trust for online reviews these days.
Wondering if anyone has first hand experience and/or knowledge. Their warranty is pretty stellar. But I'd prefer not to need to send it in...age old Vortex debate, I guess.
