Went to Sooke with a group of guys for a couple of days fishing with a charter - had lots of fun catching my first ocean fish. Unfortunately the salmon action was very slow, but Hali's were biting. 128cm, 45lb'er I'm holding.

Good times!! I got back Friday from Prince Rupert after a couple days fishing, did very well, halibut all over and spring fishing was great!

Nice fish. I'll take a Halibut for the table over Salmon any day.

Im going to campbell river in 2 weeks, hopefully I'll end up with my first halibut.

I head up to the QC Islands on the 7th for a week of fishing !

Im going to campbell river in 2 weeks, hopefully I'll end up with my first halibut.

In 35 years of dragging the bottom in Campbell River I've only caught 4. Definitely not the best Hali fishing around but there are some.

The guys that target them off the Green Can at the south end of Quadra catch a few, and it seems to have gotten better in the last dozen years or so. But, they are fishing down 300 feet and you can only do it on the slack tide so actual line in the water time is limited.

Im going for the cash derby ($10,000.00 available) (June 7-11) and then the taking a wounded warrior out for the 2nd trip (11-14) then I'm covering Rob from July 5-16th.

Yes sir, ate a couple fillets with some salmon tonight, Mmm. Already looking forward to going again next year.
